THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (TRERULEFOOT ROUNDABOUT TO CARKEEL
ROUNDABOUT, CORNWALL) (30 MPH, 40 MPH AND 50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) AND (DE-RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025
Notice is given that National Highways Limited (a) proposes to make an Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A38 Trunk Road in Cornwall.
The effect of the Order would be to:
(a) impose a 30 mph speed limit on the A38 eastbound and westbound between:
(i) 187 metres west of the junction with Church Road at Tideford to 260 metres east of the same junction;
(ii) 60 metres east of the junction with Tideford Road at Landrake and 74 metres east of the junction with New Road Terrace at Landrake;
(b) impose a 40 mph speed limit on the A38 eastbound and westbound between 41 metres west of Carkeel Roundabout to 18 metres east of that roundabout, including the roundabout
(c) impose a 50 mph speed limit on the A38 eastbound and westbound between:
(i) 77 metres east of Trerulefoot Roundabout and a point 187 metres west of the junction with Church Road at Tideford;
(ii) 260 metres east of the junction with Church Road at Tideford and 60 metres east of the junction with Tideford Road at Landrake;
(iii) 74 metres east of the junction with New Road at Landrake and 41 metres west of Carkeel Roundabout.
(d) to derestrict the A38:
(i) eastbound from 18 metres east of Carkeel Roundabout to 200 metres east of that roundabout;
(ii) westbound from 190 metres east of Carkeel Roundabout to 18 metres east of that roundabout.
This order revokes The A38 Trunk Road (Trerulefoot Roundabout to Carkeel Roundabout, Cornwall) (40 mph and 50 mph Speed Limits) and (De-restriction) Order 2010.
A copy of the Order, a plan, and a statement of National Highways reasons for making the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Landrake Post Office, Tideford Road, Landrake, Saltash, PL12 5DP and Saltash Library, Callington Road, Saltash, Cornwall PL12 6DX. They may also be obtained from PABS, National Highways, Brunel House, 930 Hempton Court, Aztec West, Almondsbury, BS32 4SR or by e-mailing southwestttro@nationalhighways.co.uk, quoting reference NHSW 01/25.
Anyone wishing to object to the proposed Order should send, not later than 24 March 2025 or within 21 days from the date of first publication of this notice, if that period expires later, a written statement of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to National Highways at the address above, quoting reference NHSW 01/25.
