What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORCHARD DRIVE, PARK STREET) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orchard Drive, Park Street from its junction with St Stephen Public Footpath No.077 north eastwards for a distance of approximately 202m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Orchard Drive, Mayflower Road, Penn Road and Orchard Drive.

The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HOLLYBUSH LANE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hollybush Lane, Harpenden from its junction with Sun Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 59m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Sun Lane, A1081 Luton Road and Hollybush Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GILLS HILL LANE AND RENDLESHAM AVENUE, RADLETT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:

  1. That length of Gills Hill Lane, Radlett from a point 24m northwest of its junction with Rendlesham Avenue southeastwards for a distance of approximately 59m.

    • An alternative route will be via Gills Hill Lane, Willow Way, B462 Watford Road, New Road, Loom Lane, and Gills Hill Lane.
  2. That length of Rendlesham Avenue, Radlett from its junction with Gills Hill Lane southwestwards for a distance of approximately 15m.

    • There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.54 AND NO.56 COLESWOOD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.54 and No.56 Coleswood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Coleswood Road southeastwards to its junction with Linwood Drive, a distance of approximately 28m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via:

  • The footway situated on the southeast side of Coleswood Road,
  • The footway situated on the southwest side of Grove Road,
  • The footway situated on the northwest side of Broadstone Road,
  • The footway situated on the northeast side of Linwood Drive.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 14 March 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LIME TREE PLACE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lime Tree Place, St Albans from its junction with Grosvenor Road north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HATCHING GREEN CLOSE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hatching Green Close, Harpenden from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.5 Hatching Green Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

Inspection of Orders

A copy of the Orders may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank, and public holidays).
