Lancashire - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Overhead Cabling And Tree Cutting Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(U5325 BLYTHE LANE, LATHOM, U5290 HOBCROSS LANE, LATHOM AND U299 FLAX LANE, BURSCOUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the West Lancashire Borough:-
i. U5325 Blythe Lane, Lathom from the access into the property named Paul’s View to U299 Flax Lane, Burscough.
ii. U5290 Hobcross Lane, Lathom from U299 Flax Lane, Burscough to the access road leading to Staveley’s Eggs Ltd.
iii. U299 Flax Lane, Burscough from U5325 Blythe Lane to the access road leading to the property named Forest View.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 0930 hours and 1530 hours from Monday 17th February 2025 until Friday 28th February 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. Alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures is via:-

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow overhead cabling and tree cutting works to be carried out by Sunbelt Rentals Ltd on behalf of BT.
