Mill Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Pole Replacement

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC142230689: The City of Manchester (Mill Lane, Woodhouse Park Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Mill Lane. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Wilmslow Road, Hale Circle, Hale Road, Park Road, Ashley Road, Cow Lane, Back Lane, Tanyard Lane, Castle Mill Lane, Mill Lane vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate pole replacement. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 10th March 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 10th March 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 3 March 2025. 

ORDER NO. MCC142265514: The City of Manchester (Wilmslow Road, Woodhouse Park Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Wilmslow Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Wilmslow Road, Runger Lane, Thorley Lane, Enterprise Way, Ringway Road West, Manchester East Airport Link, Styal Road, Styal Road Unofficial Street Name, Hollin Lane, Manchester Road, Manchester Road Roundabout, Alderley Road, Water Lane, Altrincham Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate essential maintenance of tunnels. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 16th March 2025 to the 20th March 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 16th March 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
