Uttlesford – Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works

What is happening?

(Burton End Road, Stansted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Burton End Road, Stansted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 555m north east then south east of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th March 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC3017669750 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Lower Street, Grove Hill, Stansted Road, Station Road, High Street, Hall Road and vice versa (with access only into Fullers Lane, Tye Green Road, Claypit Hill, Belmer Road, Burton End Road).

The Order will come into effect on 6th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dunmow Road, Tilty/Duck Street, Great Easton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dunmow Road, Tilty/Duck Street, Great Easton in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction of The Endway to the junction of Tilty Grange Road a distance of approximately 1250m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2377057–Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Tilty Grange Road, Maltings Bridge Lane, Muscombs Lane, Broxted Road, Duck Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Limekiln Lane, Stansted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Limekiln Lane, Stansted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 125m north west of its junction with Pines Hill for a distance of approximately 120m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th March 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WFPW6J2D – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Limekiln Lane, Pines Hill, Silver Street, Bentfield Road, Bentfield End Causeway, Bentfield Green and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Over Hall Lane, Ashdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Over Hall Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 40m south east of its junction with Steventon Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008VW456EA26MAR – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead line works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 6th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Quickset Road, Elmdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Quickset Road, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Royston Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001Wf9VNG8Y – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while frame and cover works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Quickset Road, Ickleton Road, High Street, Essex Hill, Royston Road, Littlebury Green Road, Strethall Road, High Street, Cambridge Road, London Road, Newmarket Road, Ickleton Road, Frogge Street, Abbey Street (C284), Abbey Street Spur To C253, Grange Road (C253), Elmdon Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Anso Road, Hempstead)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Anso Road, Hempstead in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 115m north east of its junction with Walden Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06059735JB – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Anso Road, Walden Road, Sampford Road, Hempstead Road, Hill Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bartlow Road, Hadstock)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bartlow Road, Hadstock in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 235m south east then north east of its junction with Moules Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PLT248819552303024 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Bartlow Road, Hadstock Road, Dean Road, Bartlow Road, Linton Bypass, The Grip (B1052), Hadstock Road, Linton Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Ickleton Road, Great Chesterford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ickleton Road, Great Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Whiteways for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 1 night (00:01-04:30), or where stated on a valid permit (KL737BGK-45-75-100325 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while warning chevron renewal works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Ickleton Road, Newmarket Road, London Road, Cambridge Road, High Street, Strethall Road, Coploe Road, Abbey Street, Abbey Street Spur to C253, Abbey Street (C284), Frogge Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Little Sampford Road, Little Bardfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Sampford Road, Little Bardfield in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 780m north west of its junction with Cooks Lane for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410259868 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Little Sampford Road, Hawkspur Green Road, Hall Road, Finchingfield Road, Hawkings Hill, Sampford Road, Brent Hall Road, Green Road, Bardfield Road, Finchingfield Road, Bridge End, Bridge Street, Vine Street, High Street, Bell Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Springhill Road, Saffron Walden)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

Phase 1: To temporarily close that length of Springhill Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Borough Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction.

Phase 2: To temporarily close that length of Springhill Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m south west of its junction with Borough Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a south westerly direction.

Phase 3: To temporarily close that length of Springhill Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Summerhill Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 16 days (works to be completed in phases), or where stated on a valid permit (A25011001400149 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Summerhill Road, Newport Road, London Road, Borough Lane and vice versa (with access only into Springhill Road).

The Order came into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
