Kirklees - 30mph Speed Limit And 40mph Speed Limit

What is happening?

(Speed Limit) (No. 120) Order 2023 A641, Bradford Road, A6107 Fixby Road, A6107, Bradley Road, Bradley Bar Roundabout, Bradley Bar 
(30mph Speed Limit And 40mph Speed Limit)

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees has made the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects roads in the Bradley Bar area in the Kirklees district, will be to:

i. Impose a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:

1. A641, Bradford Road, Bradley Bar
From the projected south-eastern property boundary of 563 Bradford Road to a point 100 metres north west of its junction with the produced north-western kerbline of Dorchester Road

2. A6107, Fixby Road, Bradley Bar
From the produced western kerbline of Bradford Road to the projected south-western building line of 12 Fixby Road

3. A6107, Bradley Road, Bradley Bar From the produced eastern kerbline of A641 Bradford Road for a distance of 432 metres north-eastwards

ii. Impose a 40mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:

1. A641, Bradford Road, Bradley Bar 
From the projected south-eastern property boundary of 563 Bradford Road to a point approximately 60 metres north of its northern junction with Fartown Green Road

2. A6107, Fixby Road, Bradley Bar
From the projected south-western building line of 12 Fixby Road for a distance of approximately 580 metres in a westerly and north-westerly direction

3. A6107, Bradley Road, Bradley Bar
From a point 432 metres north-eastwards of the produced eastern kerbline of A641 Bradford Road to its junction with the west side of Keldregate

iii. This order will also revoke any current speed limits affected by these changes on the above roads.

This Order was made on 25 February 2025 and will take effect on 02 March 2025.

Any person wishing to challenge the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirements of that, or of any instrument made under it, have not been complied with may apply to the High Court within six weeks following 28 February 2025.
