Tannery Lane (D209) Bramley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tannery Lane (D209) Bramley which extends from its junction with Chinthurst Lane (D208) to its junction with Drodges Close (D603).
Alternative Route – Tannery Lane (D209), Horsham Road (A281), Station Road (B2129) and Chinthurst Lane (D208) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow Thames Water to carry out water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 12 days, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. In order to get access cyclists and equestrians will need to dismount or follow the diversion route. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Paddocks (D3865) Weybridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 21 February 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding or wait in that length of The Paddocks (D3865) Weybridge as extends from outside the property known as “21 The Paddocks” to “39 The Paddocks”, inclusive of all properties between these two properties; and (b) to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in the footway adjacent to the length of carriageway described in (a). There are no diversion routes for these closures.
The Order is required to allow SGN to carry out gas main replacement and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 month, between 8:00am and 6:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closures, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents within the closure, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Vale Road (B3411) Ash Vale
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Vale Road (B3411) Ash Vale that is crossed under the bridge known as “Vale Road” PAA1 23/6 and for a distance of 20 metres either side.
Alternative Route: (B3411) Vale Road, (B3166) Lysons Avenue, (B3166) Lynchford Road, (B3166) Lynchford Road, (A331) Blackwater Valley Road, (A323) Aldershot Road, (A323) Ash Street, (A323) Ash Church Road, (A323) Guildford Road, (B3411) Ash Hill Road, and (B3411) Vale Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate maintenance works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 24 hours, between the hours of 01.55am and 23.59pm, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole property is affected by this closure.
Bury Street (D4016) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Bury Street (D4016) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4016) Millmead Terrace to its junction with (D4016) Bury Fields; (b) Bury Street (D4016) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4015) High Street to its junction with (D4016) Bury Fields in any direction other than southwards; (c) Suspend “The Guildford Traffic Regulation Order 1965” as amended and “The County Council of Surrey Buryfields Guildford (Cycle Lane) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1998” insofar as impose the existing one way systems for traffic in Bury Street (D4016) Guildford.
Alternative Route: Bury Street, (A3100) Portsmouth Road, High Street, and Bury Street, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate the removal of a tower crane for, or on behalf of J & G Traffic Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 7am and 8pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 March 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic, including emergency service vehicles, will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Green Lane (C127) Addlestone
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Green Lane (C127) Addlestone as extends from its junction with (A318) Chertsey Road and High Street to its junction with (D3033) Chapel Park Road.
Alternative Route: Green Lane, (A320) Guildford Road, (A320) Bell Bridge Road, (A320) Bell Bridge Roundabout, (A317) Pyrcroft Road, (A317) Eastworth Road, (A317) Chertsey Road, and (A318) Chertsey Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate sewer cleaning works for, or on behalf of Lanes Group PLC. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
London Street (B375) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of London Street (B375) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (D3040) Drill Hall Road to its junction with (D3041) Pound Road.
Alternative Route: (1) (B375) Bridge Road, (B387) Weir Road, (B387) Fordwater Road, (A317) Chertsey Road, (A317) Eastworth Road, (A317) Pyrcroft Road, (B375) Abbots Way, (B375) Curfew Bell Road, (B375) Guildford Street, (B375) Heriot Road, and (B375) London Street; (2) (B375) London Street, (B375) Heriot Road, (B375) Guildford Street, (B375) Curfew Bell Road, (B375) Abbots Way, (A317) Pyrcroft Road, (A317) Eastworth Road, (B387) Fordwater Road, (B387) Weir Road, and (B375) Bridge Road.
This Order is required to facilitate relay of service pipe works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 15 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh
Temporary Speed Limit Order 2025
On 26 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be; a) to prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 30 MPH in that length of; (a) Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh as extends from the lamp column numbered 5 situated to the south of (D5543) Newlands and in a southerly direction to a point 10 metres north of its junction with the entrance to the property known as “Knowle Park Aira Care Home” and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Cranleigh and Alfold in the Borough of Waverley) (30 MPH 40 MPH and 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2009” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to allow a safe working zone in connection with construction works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, within the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 03 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
B367 Newark Lane and B367 Church Hill, Ripley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of B367 Newark Lane, and that length of and B367 Church Hill, Ripley that extends from its junction with B367 Newark Lane, to its junction with D3744 Warren Lane.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Power On and/or Rogers Civil Engineering to carry out directional drilling along Newark Lane to install fully ducted dual 11kV HV cable and/or to carry out service connections and/or installations and/or maintenance works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out in sections, between the hours of 8am and 6pm (Monday to Saturday), in phases within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 March 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures which are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, equestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times to the point of works via the alternative route: – Newark Lane, High Street, Portsmouth Road, Send Marsh Road, Send Road, Broadmead Road, High Street, Old Woking Road, Oakcroft Road, Coldharbour Road, Upshot Lane, Church Hill and Newark Lane.
Brook Lane (D222) Albury
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Brook Lane (D222) Albury which extends from the western boundary of the property known as “Faraway” to the eastern boundary of the property known as “Kyleakin”.
Alternative Route – Brook Lane, Brook Hill, Park Road and Little London, or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow Thames Water to facilitate works to install a water supply and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 2 weeks, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Kings Road (D5520) Haslemere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Kings Road (D5520) Haslemere between the western border of the property known as “27 Kings Road” and its junction with Wey Hill (B2131).
Alternative Route: B2131 (Wey Hill and Liphook Road), A287 (Sturt Road) and Kings Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate valve installation works and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Langham Place (D3142) Egham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Langham Place (D3142) Egham. There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order is required to allow Affinity Water to carry out water connection works and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 4:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 25 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents within the closure, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Coverts Road (D6847) Claygate
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Coverts Road (D6847) Claygate as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between No.112 and No.114 Coverts Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.120 and No.122 Coverts Road.
Alternative Route: Coverts Road, and Foxwarren, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement/connection works for, or on behalf of SGN.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 29 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Little Street (D4023) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the cul-de-sac arm of Little Street (D4023) Guildford (including the turning circle) that serves the properties No.08 to No.12.
This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of Thames Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 25 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
C42 Downside Road, Cobham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:-
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C42 Downside Road, Cobham which extends from Downside Bridge to its junction with Cobham Park Road; and (b) suspend the Order imposing a HGV prohibition on A244 Oxshott Road and C131 Oaklawn Road.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 March 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

Public Footpath Nos. 52 & 53 (Egham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath Nos. 52 & 53 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made to allow for the development of 24 residential dwellings for which planning permission has been granted (RU22/0682). The Order came into operation on 6 September 2024. It was due to expire on 5 March 2025 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 6 August 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath 52 from Rosemary Lane at Grid Reference 501830 168674 in a westerly direction to Footpath 53 at Grid Reference 501657 168692, and Footpath 53 from Rosemary Lane at Grid Reference 501697 168823 in a southerly direction to Grid Reference 501653 168685.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. No access to properties will be affected by the temporary closure.
The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of Footpath 52 will be: proceed in a southerly direction for 92m then in a north westerly direction for 263m through the Frank Muir Playing Field.
The Alternative route from traffic from the northern end of Footpath 53 will be: proceed south east then south along Rosemary Lane for 314m, the in a north westerly direction for 263m through the Frank Muir Playing Field.
