What is happening?

ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL

U59k – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

“The Aberdeenshire Council (U59K - C5K Scatterburn to U59K Whin Cottage Ardoe, Banchory Devenick 03.03.25) (Temporary Closure to Vehicular Traffic) Order, 2025” has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

The order will operate from 03.03.25 for 120 days and will prohibit any person from driving on the U59K from the C5K Scatterburn to the U59K Whin Cottage Ardoe, Banchory Devenick. Works will be carried out on a phased basis as detailed below:

Phase 1 – C5K Junction to Woodside of Ardoe – 03.03.25 to 26.03.25 – 23 Days

Phase 2 – Townhead Cottage to Townhead House – 26.03.25 to 09.04.25– 11 Days

Phase 3 - Townhead Lodge to Jockston House – 10.04.25 to 23.04.25 – 14 Days

Phase 4 – North of Jockston House to Corriebroom – 24.04.25 to 01.05.25 - 8 Days

Phase 5 – Corriebroom to The Steading, Mid Ardoe – 02.05.25 to 19.05.25 – 17 Days

Phase 6 – Pegasus to Hamewith House – 20.05.25 to

04.06.25 – 16 Days

Phase 7 – From C5K to U59K Whin Cottage – Various Locations – 05.06.25 to 30.06.25 - 26 Days

Access will be provided for emergency and vehicles requiring access to properties but may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

The temporary restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety due to works being carried out to instal a new water main. An alternative route is available via the U59K - U65K – C34K – C5K and vice versa. Details of the restriction can be viewed online at https://online.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/apps/roadworks/.
