What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U5051 Mill Lane, Rodmell)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Lane – from the junction with C7 Newhaven Road to Garden Cottage. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 3 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7715 Coldthorn Lane, Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Coldthorn Lane – from the junction with B2104 Ersham Road to the junction with U7712 Summer Hill Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7712 Summer Hill Lane – B2104 Ersham Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 4 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7039 Dern Lane, Waldron/Chiddingly)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Dern Lane – from the junction with C208 Furnace Lane to the junction with U7672 Stalkers Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7672 Stalkers Lane – U7676 Graywood Lane – C328 Foxhunt Green – C208 Tanyard Hill, Furnace Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 3 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 and 4 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C402 Chillies Lane, Crowborough/Buxted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Chillies Lane – from the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road to the junction with A26 Uckfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A26 Uckfield Road, Five Ash Down, Mill Pond Road – A272 London Road, Budletts Lane, Buxted Road, Lephams Bridge Road – C402 Hurstwood Road and vice versa. The Order commences 6 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

High Street/Paygate – from the junction with U6199 Batemans Lane to the junction with C212 Shrub Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A265 Heathfield Road, Burwash Road, Mutton Hall Hill, High Street, Cross in Hand Road – A267 Cross in Hand Road, Mayfield Road, Heathfield Road, Mayfield Road, Wellbrook Hill, Wellbrook, Mayfield bypass, Tunbridge Wells Road, Argos Hill, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road – B2100 Wadhurst Road, Best Beech Hill, Mayfield Lane – B2099 Durgates, High Street, Lower High Street, Moseham Hill, Ticehurst Road, Shovers Green, High Street, Pashley Road, Ticehurst Road – A21(T) – A265 Station Road, Haremere Hill, High Street, Straight Mile, Etchingham Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 3 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 3 and 15 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7919 Iwood Lane, Warbleton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Iwood Lane – from the junction with C16 White Horse Road to the junction with U7410 Shrieks Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C16 White Horse Road – U7410 Shrieks Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Lane – from the junction with U7044 Langtye Lane to the junction with C331 The Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C331 The Street, Church Lane – C207 Poundfield Road, Langtye Lane, The Street – A27(T) Lewes Road – C13 Ripe Lane, Firle Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 19 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7861 Fowley Lane, Buxted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Fowley Lane – from the junction with U7861 Tibbs Mill Lane to the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C402 Hurstwood Road – U7503 Burnt Oak Road – U7861 Tibbs Mill Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 19 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U5655 Town Littleworth Road, Barcombe)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Town Littleworth Road – from the junction with U5654 Markstakes Lane to the junction with C205 Cooksbridge Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5654 Markstakes Lane – A275 South Street, South Road, Resting Oak Hill – C205 Deadmantree Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:30hrs to 15:00hrs on 17 and 18 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C212 Shrub Lane, Burwash)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Shrub Lane – 20 metres either side of the level crossing.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C212 Battenhurst Road – C83 Cottenden Road – C214 Station Road, Witherenden Road, Swing Gate Hill – A265 Heathfield Road, Paygate, High Street and vice versa. The Order commences 16 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C411 Saltmarsh Lane, Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Saltmarsh Lane  – from the junction with C411 Downash Road to the junction with B2104 Ersham Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C411 Downash Road, Station Road – A295 George Street, South Road – B2104 Ersham Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Hill – from the junction with C112 Vicarage Way to the junction with U5015 Norlington Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via C112 Ham Lane – A26 Uckfield Road, Rose Hill, Lewes Road – A22 Uckfield bypass, Eastbourne Road – B2192 Lewes Road, Terrible Down Road, The Broyle, Lewes Road – C112 Vicarage Way and northbound via C112 Church Crescent – B2192 Lewes Road, The Broyle, Terrible Down Road, Lewes Road – A22 Eastbourne Road, Uckfield bypass – A26 Lewes Road, Rose Hill, Uckfield Road – C112 Ham Lane.

The Order commences 19 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 and 21 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
