Lairgate, Beverley - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Lay a New Gas Main
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (I)TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC LAIRGATE, BEVERLEY (PART)
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Lairgate, Beverley commencing Monday 17 March 2025 to lay a new gas main to number 26. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 March 2025.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Lairgate, North Bar Within, Hengate, New Walkergate, Sow Hill Road, Railway Street, Eastgate, MinsterYard South, Keldgate and Admiral Walker Road, Beverley. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure.
The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles. Further information can be obtained by contacting the council and asking for Highways Customer Care, telephone (01482) 393939.
