(Carrington Road, Stockport) (Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2025
Notice Is Hereby Given that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Carrington Road, Stockport from Offerton Street to the junction with New Newbridge Lane, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow work to be done on the waterproofing of the bridge deck.
It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be one day.
Vehicle Diversion Alternative routes will be provided via: New Bridge Lane, St Marys Way, Portwood Roundabout, Carrington Road, and vice versa.
Pedestrian/Cyclist Diversion Alternative routes will be provided via: Newbridge Lane, New Zealand Road, Newbridge Lane, Passageway from Carrington Road to Stockport Road, Carrington Road, and vice versa.
This Order is to come into operation on the 7th of April 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: MM/7088540.
