(Orient Road, Paignton) (Part) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Torbay Council made the above Order on 19th February 2025 under the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect will be to prohibit vehicular traffic in part of Orient Road, from junction Torquay Road to rear of 342 Torquay Road.
There are exemptions from the Order for vehicles used in emergency for police, fire or ambulance purposes, or used in connection with the works mentioned below, and for the conveyance of persons, goods, or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to that length of road or to or from any other premises accessible for vehicles from, and only from, that length of road.
The Order has been made because gas mains replacement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the above length of road.
The alternative route available for traffic which will be affected by the Order is via Torquay Road, Seaway Lane; alternative Torquay Road, Tarraway Road, Great Headland Crescent, Hilton Drive, Upper Headland Park Road, Headland Park Road, Seaway Lane.
The Order will come into force on 31st March 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the above works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that such works will take approximately two weeks to complete.
