Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
BACTON – The Street from its junction with Clay Lane for 80m south westwards to facilitate electrical connection works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until 7th September 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Rectory Road, Church Road, Sandy Lane, Pollard Street, Bacton Road, The Green (Witton, Bacton).
BELTON WITH BROWSTON –
- New Road from its junction with Bracon Road for 300m north eastwards and

BLAKENEY – A149 New Road from 90m west of its junction with Wiveton Road for 50m south westwards to facilitate Anglian Water works for a new water connection between 19:00 and 23:59 on the 5th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025). BURGH AND TUTTINGTON – Burgh Road from its junction with Wood Lane for 250m north-westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council cradle footbridge replacement works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Aylsham Road, Church Road, New Road, Tuttington Road, Hall Road, Beck Lane, Norwich Road, Aylsham Road, Tuttington Road, A140 Aylsham Bypass, Burgh Road (Brampton, Felmingham, Aylsham, Burgh and Tuttington, Skeyton).
BURGH AND TUTTINGTON –
- Tuttington Footpath 3 from its junction with Church Lane for 140m southwards and
- Brampton Footpath 3 from its junction with Tuttington Footpath 3 for 20m southwards and
- Brampton Footpath 4 from its junction with Brampton Footpath 3 for 20m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council cradle footbridge replacement works from 3rd March to 2nd May 2025 only with signage indicating closures in place (may continue until the 2nd September 2025). BUXTON WITH LAMAS – Footpath Between 17 and 18 Cromes Place to Hautbois Road from its junction with Hautbois Road for 84m eastwards to facilitate CityFibre installation of new fibre network works from 5th to 7th March 2025 (may continue until the 18th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Footpath from St Cromes Place to Ormesby Road, Hautbois Road, Cromes Place (Buxton with Lamas).
GREAT YARMOUTH – Southtown Road from its junction with Queen Anne Road for 210m northwards to facilitate construction of new public realm and surface works by Norfolk County Council from 1st March to 25th April 2025 (previously 3rd June 2024 to 28th February 2025) (may continue until 2nd December 2025). Alternative route is via: Southtown Road, Pasteur Road, Thamesfield Way, A47 / A1243 Roundabout, Western Bypass, A12 Gorleston On Sea, From J A1243 To J A143 S, A12 Gorleston On Sea From J A143 To J A1243 Including Roundabout N, William Adams Way.
GREAT YARMOUTH – Kitchener Road from 90m east of its junction with Northgate Street for 200m eastwards to facilitate Cadent gas main upgrades from 3rd to 21st March 2025 (may continue until 2nd May 2025). Alternative route is via: Kitchener Road, Northgate Street, Estcourt Road, North Denes Road.
GREAT YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Way from its junction with Deneside for 400m south-eastwards to facilitate installation of bus bays and traffic flow works from 3rd to 10th March 2025 (may continue until 21st April 2025). Alternative route is via: Yarmouth Way, King Street, St Peters Road, Blackfriars Road, Camden Road, Queens Road, South Quay.
HAPPISBURGH – Grub Street from 20m south of its junction with Lantern Lane for 240m southwards to facilitate works to create a new entrance and cable ducting work from 3rd March to 4th April 2025 (may continue until 4th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Grub Street, North Walsham Road, The Street, Whimpwell Street, Coronation Road, Short Lane.
INGHAM – Mill Road from 180m north of its junction with Calthorpe Street for 260m northwards to facilitate pole testing works on the 4th March 2025 (may continue until 15th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Mill Road, Calthorpe Street, Whinmere Road, Sea Palling Road, Hickling Lane, Stalham Road, Sea Palling Road (Ingham, Hickling, Sea Palling).
KNAPTON – The Street from its junction with Paston Road for 250m north eastwards to facilitate installation of a surface water drainage system from 3rd March to 11th April 2025 (may continue until 11th October 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Paston Road, The Green (Paston, Knapton).
MORTON-ON-THE-HILL – Marl Hill from its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road to its junction with Morton Lane to facilitate cutting back vegetation around field entrance between 08:00 and 16:00 from 3rd to 5th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025). Alternative route is via: A1067 Fakenham Road/Norwich Road, B1535 Weston Hall Road/Hockering Road/Weston Green Road/Sandy Lane/Frans Green/Wood Lane, Paddys Lane, Honingham Road, Woodforde Close, Church Street, Marl Hill Road, Marl Hill (Hockering, Morton on the Hill, Honingham, Weston Longville, East Tuddenham, Great Witchingham).

OVERSTRAND – High Street from its junction with Cromer Road for 38m north-eastwards to facilitate Cadent gas main upgrade work from 3rd to 14th March 2025 (may continue until the 14th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Cromer Road, Mundesley Road, Carr Lane, High Street.
RACKHEATH – Vera Road from its junction with Green Lane East for 30m north-eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council footway works from 3rd to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Green Lane East, Salhouse Road, Vera Road.
SOUTH WALSHAM – Burlingham Road from 20m southwest of its junction with The Street for 50m south-westwards to facilitate water meter exchange works on 4th March 2025 (may continue until 15th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Panxworth Road, B1140 Chamery Hall Lane/Newport Road, Old Newport Road, Burlingham Road.
SUFFIELD – Rectory Road from 210m south of its junction with Brick Kiln Lane for 180m northwards to facilitate construction of new vehicular access for cable ducting works from 4th March to 7th April 2025 (may continue until 7th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Rectory Road, Felmingham Road.
WALCOTT – Ostend Road from 100m south of its junction with Happisburgh FP6 for 50m southwards to facilitate new water connection works from 3rd to 5th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Ostend Road, B1159 Coast Road, North Walsham Road, Ostend Road.
WORSTEAD – Honing Road from its junction with Barnards Road for 30m northwards to facilitate water meter exchange works on 3rd March 2025 (may continue until 14th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Barnards Road, Honing Road.

NEWTON FLOTMAN – U78128 Church Road from its junction with level crossing for 10m southwards and 10m northwards to facilitate Network Rail track maintenance works between 02:00 and 06:00 then 22:00 and 23:59 on 2nd March 2025 (may continue until the 13th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Greenways, Station Road, Flordon Road, Ipswich Road, Church Road (Flordon, Newton Flotman).
ROCKLAND ST. MARY WITH HELLINGTON – C202 The Street from its junction with Surlingham Lane for 450m westwards to facilitate CityFibre installation of new fibre network works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until the 18th April 2025). Alternative route is via: C202 The Street, New Inn Hill, Lower Road, Claxton Corner, Ferry Road, Langley Road, Loddon Road, Mundham Road, George Lane (Claxton, Rockland St. Mary).

SOUTH LOPHAM – Church Road from its junction with Primrose Lane for 65m northwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council surface water pipe replacement works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until the 18th April 2025). WYMONDHAM – Footpath 7FP63 from its junction with U71185 High House Avenue for 23m southwards to facilitate Anglian Water new connection works on 3rd to 5th March 2025 (may continue until the 16th April 2025). WYMONDHAM – U78297 Church Street from its junction with C700 Middleton Street for 70m westwards to facilitate window repair works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until the 18th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Street, Vicar Street, Middleton Street.

ATTLEBRIDGE – Station Road from its junction with Reepham Road for 800m southwards to facilitate vegetation cutting from 24th to 26th February 2025 (may continue until 9th April 2025).
Alternative route is via: Station Road, Old Fakenham Road, A1067 Fakenham Road, A1270 Broadland Northway, Fir Covert Road, Reepham Road (Felthorpe, Taverham, Swannington, Attlebridge).
CAISTER-ON-SEA –
- Jack Chase Way from its junction with Norwich Road for 1800m northwards,
- Prince of Wales Road from its junction with Jack Chase Way for 55m eastwards,
- A149 Norwich Road from 1000m northwest of its junction with Jack Chase Way to its junction with Jack Chase Way, and
- A149 Caister Bypass from 1000m southeast of its junction with Norwich Road to its junction with Norwich Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council civil works.
The Roads 1) and 2) will be temporarily closed/restricted to vehicles (except for pedestrian access), the Road 3) will be temporarily subject to a southeast bound 40mph speed restriction, and Road 4) will be temporarily subject to a northwest bound 40mph speed restriction from 24th February to 4th April 2025 (may continue until 4th October 2025).

CAWSTON – Heydon Road from its junction with the B1145 High Street for 880m northwest to facilitate horizontal directional drilling from 24th February to 25th June 2025 (may continue until 23rd August 2025).
Alternative route is via: Heydon Road, B1149 Holt Road, Oulton Street, Chapel Street, B1145 High Street (Heydon, Cawston).
COLBY AND BANNINGHAM – Banningham Road from 110m west of its junction with The Close for 120m westwards to facilitate new carriageway entrance creation and cable works from 24th February to 1st March 2025 (may continue until 25th September 2025).
Alternative route is via: Banningham Road, A140 Aylsham Bypass, B1145 Aylsham Road/North Walsham Road, Colby Road, Banningham Road (Aylsham, Colby and Banningham).
CORPUSTY AND SAXTHORPE – Norwich Road from its junction with Croft Lane for 1200m north westwards to facilitate windfarm site safety the Road will be temporarily subject to a 40mph speed restriction from 25th February to 25th July 2025 (may continue until 24th August 2026). Alternative route is N/A.
CORPUSTY AND SAXTHORPE – B1354 Briston Road from its junction with the B1149 Norwich Road for 1000m north westwards to facilitate windfarm site safety from 25th February to 25th July 2025 (may continue until 24th August 2026). Alternative route is N/A.
CROMER –
- A149 Prince of Wales Road from its junction with Cadogan Road to its junction with New Street and
- A149 Prince of Wales Road from its junction with A148 West Street to its junction with Cadogan Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council bus station works.
The road 1) is anticipated to be closed from 24th to 28th February 2025 and the road 2) is anticipated to be closed from 17th to 21st March 2025 (may continue until the 27th September 2025).
Alternative route is via:
- A149 Hamilton Road/Church Street/Mount Street/Louden Road, A148 West Street, Beach Road, A149 Runton Road.
- A148 West Street, Beach Road, A149 Runton Road/Hamilton Road/Church Street/Mount Street/Louden Road.
FAKENHAM – Norwich Street from its junction with White Horse Street to its junction with Market Place to facilitate Anglian Water stop-tap replacement works from 25th to 27th February 2025 (may continue until the 10th April 2025).
Alternative route is via: Norwich Street, Market Place, Old Post Office Street, Oak Street, Wells Road, Highfield Road, Queens Road.
GREAT AND LITTLE PLUMSTEAD – Hall Road from 277m east of its junction with School Road and Witten Lane for 25m eastwards to facilitate Felling & Stump Grading Carriageway work on 26th February 2025 (may continue until 9th April 2025).
Alternative route is via: Hall Road, School Road, Salhouse Road, Post Office Road, Blofield Corner Road, Park Lane (Blofield, Great and Little Plumstead).
GREAT YARMOUTH – North Drive from 90m north of its junction with Tennyson Road for 50 metres northwards to facilitate Anglian Water air valve scheme works from 24th to 26th February 2025 (may continue until the 9th April 2025).
Alternative route is via: Jellicoe Road, Caister Road, Lawn Avenue, North Quay, Acle New Road, Fullers Hill, Priory Plain, St Nicholas Road, Euston Road, Wellesley Road, North Drive.
GREAT YARMOUTH – Deneside from its junction with Regent Road for 180m south-eastwards to facilitate Great Yarmouth gyratory works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload including in the Loading Bays for the duration of the works/period the restriction is necessary which is anticipated to be from 24th February to 20th June 2025 (may continue until the 23rd August 2025).

GREAT YARMOUTH – Alexandra Road from its junction with Crown Road for 800m south-westwards to facilitate installation of bus bays and traffic flow works from 24th to 28th February 2025 (may continue until 11th April 2025).

Alternative route is via: Pinfold Road, Stonehouse Road, New Road, St Peters Road.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath.
Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months for vehicular highway or 6 months for non-vehicular highway.
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
