What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(MANOR ROAD, BARTON LE CLAY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Manor Road, Barton Le Clay between number 69 and 89.

This temporary closure is required to enable gully cleaning work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 14 to 18 March 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm.

The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Hexton Road, B655, Manor Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 14 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BEDFORD ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Houghton Regis opposite Bidwell Farm Barns.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 28 March 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B5120, A5, A505, B5120 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 17 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of West Street, Dunstable between Tring Road and Drovers Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable crossing amendments to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 12 March 2025.

The alternative route for this closure is via B4541, B4540, A5183 and vice versa.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Harlington outside Old Manor Farm, the junction of Station Road and Paxton Approach and near Park Leys Footway.

This temporary closure is required to enable cabling works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 3 March 2025 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Church Road, Barton Road, Goswell End Road, Westoning Road, Toddington Road, Harlington Road, Toddington Road and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. (WOODSIDE ROAD, WOODSIDE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Woodside Road, Woodside at the bend.

This temporary closure is required to enable ditching and manhole cover installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 5 March 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Manor Road, Luton Road and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO

INSTALL TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES ON HEXTON

ROAD, BARTON-LE-CLAY

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 90 A-I of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, propose to construct a set of Rumble Strips on Hexton Road, Barton-Le-Clay. This proposal is part of a scheme to reduce traffic speeds and create a safer environment for all road users.

A set of three yellow thermoplastic Rumble Strips starting with 5 and increasing incrementally by 5 up to 15, each strip measuring 100mm in width, 500mm between strips and 7 metres between sets are proposed to be sited at the following location in Barton-Le-Clay:

1.  Hexton Road, starting at a point approximately 29 metres east of the centre of the access to Hyde Farm and ending at a point approximately 57 metres east of the centre of the access to Hyde Farm.

INSTALL TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES ON HEXTON

ROAD, BARTON-LE-CLAY

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 90 A-I of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, propose to construct two flat top road humps on Hexton Road, Barton- Le- Clay. These proposals are part of a scheme to reduce traffic speeds and create a safer environment for all road users.

Two flat top road humps at a nominal height of 75mm and approximately 8.3 metres long, including ramps, extending across the full width of the road with drainage channels either side is proposed to be sited at the following locations in Barton- Le- Clay: -

1. Hexton Road, centered approximately 22m east of the eastern boundary of property number 81.

2. Hexton Road, centered approximately 113m east of the eastern boundary of property number 81.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO

INTRODUCE NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO STOPPING

ON SCHOOL ENTRANCE MARKINGS ON LEIGHOTN COURT, DUNSTABLE

Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and for facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians). More specifically, the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking in the vicinity Ashton St Peters Church of England VA Primary School to create a safer environment for those travelling to and from school.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Dunstable:-

3. Leighton Court, east side, from a point approximately 15 metres southeast of the junction with West Parade and extending in a southeasterly direction for approximately 17 metres.

4. Leighton Court, east side, from a point approximately 42 metres southeast of the junction with West Parade and extending in a southeasterly direction for approximately 28.5 metres.

5. Leighton Court, west side, from a point approximately 15 metres southeast of the junction with West Parade and extending in a southeasterly direction, following the curvature of the kerb for approximately 58 metres, ending at a point in line with the shared property boundary between No. 1 and No. 2 Leighton Court.

6. Leighton Court, northern spur, south side, from a point in line with the shared property boundary between No. 1 and No. 2 Leighton Court and extending in a north easterly direction and then following the curvature of the kerb southeast for approximately 30 metres.

To introduce No Stopping on School Entrance Markings from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm on the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Leighton Court, east side, from a point approximately 32 metres southeast of the junction with West Parade and extending in a generally southerly direction, following the curvature of the kerb for 25.56 metres.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along part of public Footpath No. 16, Houghton Regis which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0062 2471 to OS GR TL 0070 2461.

This temporary closure is required to enable construction works to take place. The closure is expected to take place from 3 March to 2 June 2025.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be:

From (OS GR) TL 0062 2471 proceed in an easterly direction over the footbridge, then continues in a south south-easterly direction for approximately 129 metres to (OS GR) OS GR TL 0070 2461.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WHIPSNADE: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO.1)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of public Bridleway No 1, Whipsnade which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0121 1828 to OS GR TL 0098 1853.

This temporary closure is required due to severe water damage. The closure is expected to take place from 28th February 2025 to 27th August 2025.

There is currently no alternative route for bridleway users while the closure is in operation.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along part of public Footpath No. 3, Chalgrave at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9806 2739.

This temporary closure is required due to the footbridge missing across the stream. The closure is expected to take place from 01st March 2025 to 31st August 2025.

There is currently no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.
