Norfolk, Speed Limit Reduction From 40mph To 30mph
What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(COLBY & FELMINGHAM, VARIOUS ROADS) (30 M.P.H SPEED LIMIT) CONSOLIDATION AND VARIATION ORDER 2025
The Norfolk County Council propose to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of this Order will be to reduce the speed limit from 40 mph to 30 mph along the B1145 Aylsham Road/North Walsham Road, from a point 78 metres west of its junction with U14339/100 Stuffled Road westwards for a distance of 1185 metres.
The Norfolk County Council (Banningham) (30 m.p.h. and 40 m.p.h. Speed Limits) Order 1998 (hereinafter referred to as the “1998 Order”) will be revoked in its entirety on the date of commencement of the above Order. All the existing lengths of road having a 30 mph speed limit granted in the 1998 Order are replicated in the new Order with the 30 mph restriction remaining. This change is made for the purpose of clarity and efficient administration of speed restrictions.
A copy of the draft Order, a plan, Statement of Reasons for making the Order, and a copy of the 1998 Order being revoked, may be viewed online at https://norfolk.citizenspace.com/. Copies may also be available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, and at the offices of North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, during normal office hours. However, in-office staffing levels have been reduced and viewing online would be recommended.
Any objections and representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. All correspondence for these proposals must be received at the office of nplaw, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of Mr J Hulse by 18th March 2025.
