The Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006 (Amendment) (Dover Street) Leicester (No.374) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Leicester City Council HAS MADE an Order in Part under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 45 & 46 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby mode the following Order:-

The effect of this Order is set out below and will be to amend the existing restrictions already in force on the streets listed below, by way of amendment to the Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006:-

DOVER STREET
1. Introduce Prohibition of motorised vehicles at all times from its junction with Granby Street to a point 26 metres south west of its junction with Granby Street

2. Revoke one way street from its junction with Granby Street to its junction with Wellington Street North west side 

3. Revoke no waiting at any time from a point 42 metres north-east of its junction with Wellington Street to a point 46 metres north-east of its junction with Wellington Street

4. Revoke Pay & Display from a point 10 metres northeast of its junction with Wellington Street to a point 42 metres north-east of its junction with Wellington Street

5. Re-introduce Pay & Display from a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Wellington Street to a point 46 metres north-east of its junction with Wellington Street

6. Revoke daytime no waiting restriction (Mon- Sat 7.30am -6pm) from a point 64 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street to a point 106 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street

7. Re-introduce daytime no waiting restriction (Mon- Sat 7.30am -6pm) from a point 53 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street to a point 64 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street

8. Introduce a 24-hr loading bay from a point 64 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street to a point 84 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street

9. Introduce no waiting no loading at any time from a point 84 metres north-east of its junction with Albion Street to a point 26 metres south west of its junction with Granby Street South east side

10. Revoke no waiting at any time from its junction with Granby Street to a point 7 metres south-west of its junction with Granby Street 

11. Revoke pay and display from a point 7 metres south-west to a point 25 metres south west of its junction with Granby Street

All other restrictions on Dover Street will remain unchanged A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council's statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council-website: www.leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders  or by calling 0116 454 1001, or email transport.strategy@leicester.gov.uk and requesting a paper copy to be sent via post.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order (which was made on the 12th February 2025) or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 12th February 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose. 

This Order Will Come Into Force On 23rd February 2025 

This Order is Made in Part and is the last remaining section to be made. The first made order was sealed in July 2024 and is titled 'The Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006 (Amendment) (Calais Street, Chatham Street, Granby Street and York Street) Leicester (No.350) Order 2024'. 

For information- the payment bays being Pay & Display/Pay by Phone, currently operate Monday to Saturday. However, in the future, the Council is looking to make all payment bays within the city centre operate on all days of the week. These bays will be included in that Order.
