What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL
(BACK ROAD, SOUTHVILLE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Back Road from Ashton Gate Road to North Street.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and becomes operative from 8th March 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 8th March 2025 and 31st March 2025).

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: North Street, Greenway Bush Lane, Ashton Gate Road and vice versa

(BAYNTON ROAD, ASHTON, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Baynton Road from Ashton Road to its closed end.

Exemption will be provided in the Order for vehicles requiring necessary access to premises situated on, adjacent to or accessible only from that closed length of road as specified above.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and becomes operative from 27th February 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 27th February 2025 and 4th June 2025).

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: None – No through road

(VARIOUS ROADS, ST. GEORGE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which will is:

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and

2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the existing one way traffic working in a northerly direction in Charlton Road so as to allow access and egress for works vehicles and to give effect to the alternative route.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and becomes operative from 27th February 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 27th February 2025 and 11th April 2025).

SCHEDULE 1 – Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles

1. Charlton Road – from the common boundary line of No. 1 and No. 3 Charlton Road to the common boundary line of No. 7 and No. 9 Charlton Road

2. King Street – from Two Mile Hill Road north westwards for 17 metres

3. New Queen Street – from Two Mile Hill Road north westwards for 20 metres

SCHEDULE 2 – Alternative Routes

1. Charlton Road (part unaffected), Two Mile Hill Road, Primrose Lane, Holdenhurst Road, Talbot Avenue, Charlton Road (part unaffected)

2. Two Mile Hill Road, Burchells Green Road, Burchells Avenue, King Street (part unaffected) and vice versa

3. Two Mile Hill Road, Soundwell Road, Lodge Road, Ingleside Road, Charlton Road, New Queen Street (part unaffected) and vice versa
