What is happening?

(Footpath 91, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 91, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford from its junction with Boldett Street, for a period of approximately 102.4m in a northerly direction.
The closure is required for the safety of the public while work is undertaken on 24 February 2025 to 28 February 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required while construction work for a new footpath and metal fencing to be constructed at the west boundary with the Borough Bridge is carried out.
The alternative route will be via a path around the compound area, from where the footpath would be visible for approximately 16 metres and then south for approximately 25 metres back onto the path.
The Order will come into effect on 24 February 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Fallowden Lane, Ashdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fallowden Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 35m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17 March 2025 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (MX041240214335 – Affinity Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 27 February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mallows Green Road, Manuden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mallows Green Road, Manuden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction at approximately 350m south west of its junction with Brick Kiln Lane for a distance of approximately 110m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26 February 2025 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (MX041240502206 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water exchange works are undertaken.
An alternative route is available (with access only into Mallows Green Road).
The Order will come into effect on 27 February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Old Mead Road, Elsenham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Mead Road, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a southerly direction, to prevent access by north and south bound vehicular traffic.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 18 March 2025 for 10 days or where stated on a valid permit (XK780K-S5-34-202325 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while railway works are undertaken.
An alternative route is available via Station Road, Henham, Old Mead Road, Mill Road, Rickling Green Road, Quendon and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27 February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Lower Street/High Lane, Stansted Mountfitchet) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Lower Street/High Lane, Stansted Mountfitchet in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction of Grove Hill to the junction of Stoney Common Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 30 March 2025 for 26 days or where stated on a valid permit (ZX501130183686 & ZX501130488496 – Cadent).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Chapel Hill, Cambridge Road and vice versa (with access only into Lower Street, High Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 27 February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.3) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
The temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway at the scheduled locations to facilitate the above works. Signs will be temporarily amended where the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
The Essex County Council (Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restrictions as detailed for the duration of the works.
The Order will come into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
