Experimental Traffic Control Scheme –
Waiting Restrictions
Bedford Street, Belfast

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made The Experimental Traffic Control Scheme –
Waiting Restrictions – Bedford Street, Belfast, for a period of 6 months, which will come into
operation on 3rd March 2025.
The scheme will prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time (loading and unloading not permitted)
on lengths of Bedford Street, Belfast. The Department will consider in due course whether the
provisions of the scheme should continue indefinitely.

Within a period of 6 months from 3rd March 2025, any person may object to the making
of a traffic regulation order for the purpose of continuing the provisions of the scheme in
force indefinitely. Any such objection or other representation must be made in writing to the
Department at DfI TRAM Eastern Division, Traffic Management, Hydebank House, 4a Hospital
Road, Ballydollaghan, Belfast, BT8 8JL or by emailing

traffic.eastern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk

stating the grounds of objection.

Temporary Traffic Regulation
Bankmore Square and Dublin Road, Belfast Cycle Route
Notice is hereby given in compliance with paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 3 to the Road Traffic
Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 that the Department for Infrastructure in exercise of
the powers conferred on it by Article 7(1), (3), and (4) of that Order, so that an alternative route
for wheeled users may be provided to assist the development works adjacent to Dublin Road /
Marcus Ward Street, Belfast, and being satisfied that wheeled users should be redirected from
the existing cycle route along Hardcastle Street and Marcus Ward Street, and provision made
on the following lengths of road/footways and dates:—
Bankmore Square, Belfast from Bankmore Street to Dublin Road
Dublin Road, Belfast from Bankmore Square to Marcus Ward Street
From 08.00hrs on Wednesday 26 February 2025, until 18.00hrs on Monday 31 August 2026
Traffic signs indicating this alternative cycle route will be erected in due course.

Marcus Ward Street, Belfast – No Waiting at anytime
Notice is hereby given in compliance with paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 3 to the Road Traffic
Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 that the Department for Infrastructure in exercise of
the powers conferred on it by Article 7(1), (3), and (4) of that Order, so that the development
works adjacent to Dublin Road / Marcus Ward Street, Belfast, can restrict the use of Marcus
Ward Street to one lane, and provision made on the following lengths of road / footways and
dates:—
Marcus Ward Street, Belfast from Dublin Road to Hardcastle Street – No Waiting at any time
From 08.00hrs on Wednesday 26 February 2025, until 18.00hrs on Monday 31 August 2026
