What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
Proposed Prohibition of Access “Saturday Market Days 2025”- Churchfield Road, Acton.
The Ealing (Prescribed Routes) (No. ***) Traffic Order 202*.
1. The London Borough of Ealing hereby gives Notice that they propose the above- mentioned Order under section 6 and 124 the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The general effect of the proposed Order would be to prohibit motor vehicles from accessing the Churchfield Road (Alfred Road to Burlington Gardens) between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 6.00p.m. on certain Saturdays, to accommodate on Saturday “market days”. Exemptions such as would be provided such as for emergency service vehicles; vehicles gaining access or egress from any premises fronting upon or accessible from the closed section of road; any vehicle in connection with Churchfield Road Saturday market days. “Market days” would be on Saturdays: - 26th April 2025; 21st June 2025; 20th September 2025; and 13th December 2025. Additional dates may be provided by an amendment Order.
3. The alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure shall be via: Myrtle Road, Shakespear Road, Milton Road.
4. The proposed Order, other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order including plans, are available by e-mail from ‘trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk’ or by inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made, or the Council decides not to make the Order.
5. Any objections or other representations about either of the proposed Order should be sent in writing by e-mail to ‘trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk’ or by post to Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference P010-25 until the 12 March 2025. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should include the address of the author.
