The Redbridge (Prescribed Routes) (School Streets) (Experimental No.1) Order 2025

The Redbridge (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) Consolidation (Experimental No. 1) Order 2025

[NOTE: This notice is about the introduction of part-time pedestrian zones during term-time (school streets) in streets adjacent to the following schools, Goodmayes Primary School, Mossford Green Primary School, and South Park Primary School].

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge made on 14 February 2025 the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

  2. The general effect of the Orders which comes into force on 24 February 2025 is to:

    (1) prohibit all motor vehicles except permit holders at certain times in Castleton Road, Esher Road, Fairlop Road, Guildford Road, Holmwood Road, Morrab Gardens, Sydney Road, Water Lane, and Waterloo Road. Any vehicle that is in the affected road before the pedestrian and cycle zone commences will be permitted to leave.

    (2) change the one-way restriction on the north-south arm of Castleton Road from southbound to northbound.

    (3) introduce double yellow line junction protection in Egerton Gardens, Fairlop Road, Gyllyngdune Gardens, Hobart Road, Lameron Road, Morrab Gardens, Mossford Lane, Water Lane, and Waterloo Road.

  3. A copy of the Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about it including map-based plans may be examined at the Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY between 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

  4. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of a permanent Order made under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Order within a period of 6 months beginning with the date on which the Experimental Order comes into force or, if the Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force.

  5. Any objection must be made in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to highways@redbridge.gov.uk or by writing to:

    Highways Team, 2nd Floor (Front), Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY (quoting reference RED1029). Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.

  6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
