(Algers Road, Loughton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Algers Road, Loughton in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Lower Park Road to its junction with The Avenue, a distance of approximately 45m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th March 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU091NLS0081341763-0180 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Thames Water.
An alternative route is available via Algers Road, High Road, Lower Park Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Epping Road, Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Epping Road, Harlow in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 90m north west of Reeves Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410253258 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while hydrant repair and replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Epping Road, Harlow Road, Roydon Road, Elizabeth Way, Third Avenue, Katherine’s Way, Southern Way, Water Lane, Epping Road Roundabout and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Lippitts Hill, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Lippitts Hill, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 710m south east of its junction with Mott Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU093MCW-NL-06730596 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation works are undertaken by Thames Water.
An alternative route is available via Lippitts Hill, Church Road, Mott Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Abbess Road, Ongar) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Abbess Road, Ongar in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 305m north east of its junction with Little Laver Road for a distance of approximately 1000m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th March 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30040542442 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Abbess Road, Little Laver Road, Fyfield Road, Moreton Road, Ongar Road, Dunmow Road, School Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Brunel Road & Chigwell Road, Chigwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close that length of Brunel Road, Chigwell in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Chigwell Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction.
- To temporarily close that length of Chigwell Road, Chigwell in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 40m south west of its junction with Smeaton Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 3rd March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU273/REHAB2425/WP2/0171 & MU273/REHAB2425/WP2/0173 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while sewer works are undertaken by Thames Water.
An alternative route is available via Chigwell Road, Smeaton Road, Love Lane, Brunel Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maltings Hill, Moreton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Maltings Hill, Moreton in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 145m south west of its junction with Little Laver Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410258969 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fit stop tap/boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Moreton Bridge, Moreton Road, Fyfield Road, Ongar Road, Maltings Hill, Church Road and vice versa.

To temporarily close that length of Manor Road, Lambourne in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 65m north west of its junction with Hook Lane for a distance of approximately 40m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th March 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410250728 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fit stop tap/boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

(Rye Hill Road, North Weald Bassett) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Rye Hill Road, North Weald Bassett in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 235m south west of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th March 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WFTGN99M – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Rye Hill Road, High Road, Thornwood Road, Palmers Hill, Lindsey Street, Epping Road, Parsloe Road, Paringdon Road, Rye Hill Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Threshers Bush, Matching) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Threshers Bush, Matching in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 250m south east of its junction with Green Lane for a distance of approximately 210m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (KA250GCX005154 – Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while verge digging works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via Tilegate Road, Hastingwood Road, Mill Street, Harlow Common, Foster Street, Green Lane and vice versa (with access only into Threshers Bush).
The Order came into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Epping Forest) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (Westbury Road, Buckhurst Hill) (Temporary Suspension of One Way) & (Blackmore Road, Stondon Massey & Sewardstone Road, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (No.3) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule to this Order.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on those lengths of road as specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
- “The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
- To temporarily suspend the one-way restriction in that length of Westbury Road, Buckhurst Hill in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Palmerston Road to its junction with Russell Road, a distance of approximately 170m, as detailed in “The Essex County Council (Westbury Lane and Westbury Road (North), Buckhurst Hill) (One Way) Order 2007” for the duration of the closure.
To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Sewardstone Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Sun Street to its junction with King George Road, a distance of approximately 250m, as detailed in the “Epping Forest District Council (Sewardstone Road, Farm Hill Road, Honey Lane & Broomstick Hall Road, Waltham Abbey) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2002”, for the duration of the closure only.
To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Blackmore Road, Stondon Massey in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Hook End Road to its junction with Ongar Road, a distance of approximately 550m, as detailed in the “The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Brentwood & Epping Forest Districts) (Weight Restriction) (Variation) Order 1987”, for the duration of the closure only.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 13th February 2025, with exact dates specified on One.Network. Roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location, and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
