(FOOTPATH 19, TONNA) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend is not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the length of highway set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the length of highway is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable Network Rail to carry out works to the culvert on the footpath and is in the interests of public safety.
The Order will come into force on 3rd March 2025 and shall continue in force for a period of six months or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner.

Footpath 19 Tonna
That length of Footpath 19 Tonna commencing at point A (Grid Ref. 27837 19941) on the County road at the foot of Pont-y-gwaith Hill, and proceeds northwards under railway (Vale of Neath Line) then eastwards alongside railway, turning north west to the Neath Canal bank to point B (Grid Ref. 27849 19954) a total distance of 227 metres or thereabouts.
Alternative Routes
The public are advised to use the existing public rights of way and highway network.
