What is happening?
NOTICE OF MAKING AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF LONGBRIDGE DEVERILL PATH NO.5
DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above named order, made on 12th February 2025, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will divert the entire width and length of that section of the path known as Longbridge Deverill 5, at The Manor House, Hill Deverill, BA12 7EQ, leading from OS Grid Reference ST 87165 40124, in a broadly westerly direction for approximately 120 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 87051 40162, then leading in a broadly northerly direction for approximately 190 metres to ST 87076 40337. The path will be diverted to a new route leading, from OS Grid Reference ST 87165 40124, in a broadly northerly direction, within the fenced corridor, for approximately 180 metres to ST 87178 40299 and then leading in a west north westerly direction for approximately 100 metres to ST 87076 40337, the path having a width of 2.5 metres. The order will alter the Warminster and Westbury Rural District Council definitive map and statement dated 1953 accordingly. A copy of the order and order map has been placed and may be seen free of charge at Definitive Map and Highway Records, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN, 0900-1700 weekdays by appointment. Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to Craig Harlow, Definitive Map Officer, Definitive Map and Highway Records, Wiltshire Council, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN or by email to Craig Harlow, Definitive Map Officer at craig.harlow@wiltshire.gov.uk ,quoting the title of the order, "The Wiltshire Council Parish of Longbridge Deverill Path No.5 Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2025," not later than 17:00 on 21st March 2025, and respondents are requested to state the grounds on which their representation or objection is made. If no such representation or objections are duly made , or if any so made are withdrawn, the Wiltshire Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order . If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representation and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
