What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(WOLSELEY GARDENS AREA) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding on:
i) North Back Wolseley Gardens from its junction with Grosvenor Gardens to its junction with Lansdowne Gardens.
ii) South Back Wolseley Gardens from its junction with Lansdowne Gardens eastwards for 15 metres.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.
3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on the 10 March 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to the 17 March 2025 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
