TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -

PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION

NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below.  The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below.  There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage
to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken.  Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 3rd March 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.  However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4370 between A49 and Marshbrook
Date & Duration: 8th March 2025 from 23:30 to 10:05 9th March 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail - Drainage Maintenance
Alternative Route : B4370, A489, A49

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Christ Church Lane, Market Drayton
Date & Duration: 7th March 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Repair/replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Alternative Route : Quarry Bank Road, Dalelands Estate, Shrewsbury Road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Lane, Highley
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: road closure-Severn Trent water-remedial works
Alternative Route : Church Lane, High Street, Silverdale Terrace, Church Street

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Coleham Head, Shrewsbury in a North bound direction.
Date & Duration: 9th March 2025 from 16:30 to 19:30
Purpose: One Way Closure - BT, to provide a safe working area for engineers to access building frontages with hoist in order to provide fibre overhead cabling.
Alternative Route : Longden Road, B4380, Hereford Road, Belle Vue Road or A5112, Old Potts Way

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Copthorne Drive, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 26 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, gas main replacement scheme.
Alternative Route : Woodfield Road, Porthill Drive, Copthorne Road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Copthorne Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 5th March 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 6th March 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Alternative Route : Copthorne Road, Shelton Road, The Mount

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Gobowen Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 9th March 2025 from 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Manhole repair/replace.
Alternative Route : B5069, B4579, A483, A5, B5069

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Gyrn Road, Selattyn
Date & Duration: 4th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Defect CLO - Remedial Reinstatement
Alternative Route : B4579, Unnamed road West, Gyrn Road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hall Lane, Kemberton
Date & Duration: 4th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-new water connection
Alternative Route : Hall Lane, B4379, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road North, Grindle Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Henley Lane, Acton Scott
Date & Duration: 5th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Short Comm pipe Cut Off
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, A49, Unnamed road East towards Acton Scott


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Nant Lane, Morda
Date & Duration: 5th March 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replacing overhead conductor over the road.
Alternative Route : Nant Lane, Trefonen Road, B5069, Unnamed road West through Nat-Y-Caws


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Offoxey Road, Bishops Wood
Date & Duration: 4th March 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Access required for engineers to work on overhead structures in order to provide service
Alternative Route : Ivetsey Bank Road, A5, A41, Offoxey Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Pelham Road, Upton Magna
Date & Duration: 9th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, interim to permanent reinstatement.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West through Uffington, B5062, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road South, Pelham Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cordy Lane, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 3 days between 08:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge Repairs - installation of timber parapets and marker post to the upstream end. Underpin undercutting to downstream right outfall drainage.
Alternative Route : Donington Lane, Blue House Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Trefonen Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 7th March 2025 between 09:30 and 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs to include kerbing, sign posts and iron works.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East, Trefonen Road, B5069, Upper Brook Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Linney, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 33 days
Purpose: Removal of retaining wall and reinstatement, including vegetation removal.
Alternative Route : Dinham, Middlewood Road, Whitcliffe Road, Ludford Bridge, Temeside, Old Street, Linney


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road, Prescott (Honeysuckle Bridge)
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 5 days between 08:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge Repairs to include clearing vegetation from approaches. Erect marker post to the upstream left, Bridge repairs and painting.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road South

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Neachley Lane, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 6th March 2025 for 2 days between 08:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge works
Alternative Route : Stanton Road, A41, Long Lane, Neachley Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Rosehill Road, Stoke Heath
Date & Duration: 5th March 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Drainage works
Alternative Route : A41, Unnamed road West towards Heathcote


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Scotland Street, Ellesmere
Date & Duration: 9th March 2025 between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water Connection

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using The Dana, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, 1 joint hole in tarmac footway and 21 metres of trenching in footway for service unloops.
Alternative Route : The Dana, Howard Street, Castle Foregate, New Park Road, North Street, Benyon Street, Victoria Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between A4113 and Weston Road ,Stowe
Date & Duration: 5th March 2025 for 3 nights between 22:00 to 05:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail-Masonry repairs and vegetation removal at railway bridge
Alternative Route : Weston Road, A488, Bowling Green Lane, A4113, Unnamed road North


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B4364 and
Middleton Scriven
Date & Duration: 4th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach - Replace pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road North East towards Middleton Scriven, Griggs Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Bucknell and Chapel Lawn
Date & Duration: 7th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach- Renew pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West through Chapel Lawn, A488, Bowling Green Lane, A4113, B4367, Chapel Lawn Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Habberley Road and The A488, Pontesbury
Date & Duration: 5th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, air valve rebuild chamber.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road North West, Habberley Road, Chapel Street, A488


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Hill houses and Foxwood
Date & Duration: 4th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water- new water connection
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East towards Hopton Wafers, A4117, Unnamed road North East towards Hill Houses


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between The A458 and Lyons Lane, Berrington
Date & Duration: 4th March 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - National Highways, safety Inspections on the redundant railway bridge.
Alternative Route : A458, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road South West, King Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from B5065 to Stanton Hine Heath
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - To install overhead fibre

Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Access to overhead structure for cabling works.

Date & Duration: 6th March 2025 between 09:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree Works

Date & Duration: 6th March 2025 between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road closure - Remedial reinstatement

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Whitchurch Road, Prees
Date & Duration: 3rd March 2025 for 12 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Excavate joint bay to lay cable.
Alternative Route : Shrewsbury Street, A49, Whitchurch Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 8th March 2025 for 2 days between 10:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, 1 joint hole in footway for link box
replacement.
Alternative Route : Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Murivance, St Chads Terrace, Claremont Bank, Lower Claremont Bank
