NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Magdalene Street, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-229
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Magdalene Street, Cambridge as lies between A1303 & Thompson Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via Bridge St; Jesus Ln; Victoria Ave; A1303 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate ducting installation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Sturton Street, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-233

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Downing Street, Cambridge as lies between Tennis Court Road & Corn Exchange Street. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area Z (Consolidation) Order 1991 as amended by The City of Cambridge Area Z (Consolidation) Order 1991 (Amendment No. 11) Order 1995, Schedule 6 One way streets. Part 1: Roads and parts of roads in which all vehicles are prohibited to proceed except in the direction stated Downing Street: From west to east is hereby suspended. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area Z (Consolidation) Order 1991, Schedule 23 – Cycle Lanes, Part 1 – Contra-flow cycle lane, Pembroke Street – On its southern side from its junction with Downing Street to its junction with Trumpington Street in a westerly direction is hereby suspended. The alternative route for vehicles is via Pembroke St; Tennis Court Rd; Fitzwilliam St; Trumpington St. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 13/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 12/9/26 whichever is the earlier.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along New Road, Haslingfield as lies between numbers 89 & 107. The alternative route for vehicles is via New Rd; Fountain Ln; High St; Church St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sewer repairs & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 25/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 24/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
West Road, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-267
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along West Road, Cambridge as lies between Stephen Hawkin Building & A1134. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134; Sidgwick Ave; Grange Rd; West Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water reinstatement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13/3/25 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12//26 whichever is the earlier.
Butt Lane, Milton Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-271
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Butt Lane, Milton as lies between Coulson Close & High Street. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 24/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 23/9/26 whichever is the earlier.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Abbey Walk, Cambridge as lies between No. 33 & York Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via York St; New St; Sturton St; Abbey Wlk & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate communication pipe repair & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 26/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 25/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Derby Street, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-273
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Derby Street, Cambridge as lies between No.20 & Merton Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via Newnham Croft St; Grantchester St; Merton St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Hills Road A1307, Cambridge Temporary Suspension Of Cycle Lane – Order 2025-274
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Hills Road A1307, Cambridge as lies between Francis House & Botanic House. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23 Cycle Lane: Part 2 mandatory with flow cycle lane, Hills Road On its west side from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Brooklands Avenue to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Bateman Street is hereby suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate chamber CCTV surveys & associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane & it will come into operation on 3/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/26.This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Hills Road A1307, Cambridge are in progress.
High Street C233, Cambridge Temporary Suspension Of Cycle Lane – Order 2025-290
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on High Street C233, Cambridge as lies between No. 190 & Fishers Lane. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area E (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23 Cycle Lane: Part 2 mandatory with flow cycle lane in which loading is permitted, High Street, Cherry Hinton on its east side from a point 15 metres north of the centreline of Chelwood Road to a point 16 metres south of the centreline of Fisher’s Lane, is hereby suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate fire hydrant repairs & associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane & it will come into operation on 18/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 17/9/26 whichever is the earlier. This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on High Street (C233), Cambridge are in progress.
Hertford Street, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-291
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hertford Street, Cambridge as lies between No.16 & East Hertford Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via Hertford St; St Lukes St; Alpha Rd; East Hertford St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main repairs & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 10/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Caxton End, Bourn Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-293
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Caxton End, Bourn as lies between No’s 107 & 143. The alternative route for vehicles is via Caxton End, Alms Hill, Caxton Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Ashdon Road, Bartlow Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-294
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ashdon Road, Bartlow as lies between Three Hills Farm & Hadstock Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Dean Rd; Camps Rd; Bartlow Rd, Castle Camps; Park Ln; Drapers Grn, Helions Bumpstead; Camps Rd; Water Ln; Water Ln, Hempstead; B1054; Ashdon Rd, Radwinter; Radwinter Rd; Radwinter Rd, Ashdon; Church Hill; Bartlow Rd; Ashdon Rd, Bartlow & vice versa. Albert Road, Stow Cum Quy Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic & Bottisham Cycle Track 1, Stow Cum Quy Temporary Suspension Of Cycle Lane – Order 2025-370
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Albert Road, Stow Cum Quy as lies between A1301 & Main Street. During the period this Order remains in force The County of Cambridgeshire (Newmarket Road, A1303, Bottisham and Stow Cum Quy) (Cycle Tracks) Order 1984, District of South Cambridgeshire Parishes of Bottisham and Stow cum Quy.
That length of footway on the northern side of Newmarket Road (A1303) from its junction with Bell Road, Bottisham in a westerly direction to its junction with Church Road, Stow cum Quy is hereby suspended.
The alternative route for vehicles is via B1102; Newmarket Rd; A1303 & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate surveys, trial holes & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 4/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 3/9/25 whichever is the earlier.
Perne Road A1134, Cambridge Temporary Suspension Of Cycle Lane – Order 2025-371
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Perne Road A1134, Cambridge as lies between Brookfields & Mowbray Road. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area E (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23 Cycle Lane: Part 2 mandatory with flow cycle lane. Perne Road on both sides of the carriageway from its junction with Brookfields to its junction with Cherry Hinton Road is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical duct laying & associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane & it will come into operation on 3/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/2026 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Perne Road A1134, Cambridge are in progress.

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along various footpaths as set out in Schedule 1 below. The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate telecommunications & associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 31/3/25 & will continue until these works have finished or on the 30/9/25 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.
