(Electric Scooter Trial) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, The Electric Scooter Trials and Traffic Signs (Coronavirus) Regulations and General Directions 2020, and pursuant to the Order made by the Department for Transport, under s44 and s63(5) of the Road Traffic Act 1988, intends to make an order the effect of which will enable electric scooters (as defined in The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016) being used in a trial, to use any road or length of road in South Gloucestershire which is currently used by pedal cycles. This applies only to electric scooters hired from a company authorised and in accordance with the regulations made by the Department for Transport. South Gloucestershire Council is satisfied that electric scooters being used in the trial in the said roads should be permitted in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public to facilitate the further extension of the Department for Transport electric scooter trial; (1) to reduce ambiguity as to where the aforementioned electric scooters can be ridden, and (2) to allow the aforementioned electric scooters to be ridden in suitable areas of the highway.
The order will be operative from 17 March 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
(Various Roads, West Littleton and Dyrham Area) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new sign installation works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 26 February 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that the works at each location will be carried out between the hours specified in column 2 on the dates specified in column 3 of the said Schedule. Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Bowstreet Lane which extends from Farm Lane south westwards for 330m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole testing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 24 February 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm. Alternative route: Berwick Lane, Severn Road, Redwick Road, Marsh Common Road, Main Road, Bowstreet Lane (parts unaffected) and vice versa.
(Dyers Lane, Iron Acton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Dyers Lane which extends from a point 450m north east of B4059 northwards for 60m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works. The order became operative from 24 February 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Dyers Lane, Chaingate Lane, Wotton Road, Yate Road, Dyers Lane and vice versa.
(Claypit Hill, Chipping Sodbury; Gibbs Lane, Dodington and Sodbury Lane, Codrington) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the ongoing closure of the A432 M4 overbridge resulting in traffic diverting through the Sodbury and Dodington area causing potential road safety issues and danger to road users and residents. The order will be operative from 12 March 2025 for a period of at least 18 months. The restriction however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position. Schedule: Claypit Hill – the entire length; Gibbs Lane – from Claypit Hill to Sodbury Lane; Sodbury Lane – the entire length.
(Manor Road, Wick) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Manor Road which extends from High Street to Barrow Hill. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order will be operative from 17 March 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm. Alternative route: A420 High Street, Oldbury Lane, Barrow Hill and vice versa.
(Down Road, Westerleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Down Road which extends from Bury Hill eastwards for 100m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 17 March 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm. I give notice that Lidl GB Limited has applied to South Gloucestershire Council for Demolition of existing Class E building, and erection of a food store (Class E), with 95no. car parking spaces, access, servicing and landscaping. (application reference no. P23/02925/F).
The proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force for the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated.

In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
