Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Farndon Ward to enable Carriageway Surfacing works to be carried out by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The Hill & Chapel Lane: ROAD CLOSURE between the junction with B5130 and Platts Lane 17th-28th March 2025, 08:00-17:00hrs

NOTE: These works are weather dependent and may be subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture, building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.

The Order will come into force on 17th March 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately two weeks to complete.

Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via Platts Lane, A41 Whitchurch Road, A41 Broxton Roundabout, A534 Broxton/Barton Road, B5130 Sibbersfield Lane, The Hill (and vice versa).

(WREXHAM ROAD, CHESTER) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT)

(EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 18th of February 2025 Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council made the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will come into force on 3rd March 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 30 mph speed limit on Wrexham Road from a point 400 metres south of Overleigh Roundabout to the northerly junction of Herons Way.

Full details are in the experimental Order which, together with a plan showing the extents of the proposal, may be viewed in the Public Notices section of the Council’s website. Copies may be obtained by emailing highways@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk or via telephone request to 0300 123 7036.

The experimental Order will be in force for a maximum period of 18 months, during which time the Council will consider whether to make a permanent Order. If you wish to object to the provisions of the experimental Order continuing in force indefinitely, you may do so in writing, stating the grounds on which it is made, to the undersigned within a period of six months:

(i) beginning with the day on which the experimental Order came into force; or

(ii) if that Order is varied by another order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force.
