What is happening?

A357 Combe Hill, Templecombe in the Parish of Abbas & Templecombe (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that on the 14th day of February 2025 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 6th day of February 2025, to introduce a temporary 30mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below.

This Order will come into operation on the 20th day of February 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. 

The Works are expected to commence on the 24th day of February 2025 to the 25th day of February 2025 (between 0900 hours and 1600 hours) to enable Connect IT Utility Services working on behalf of SSEN to carry out works to install a new electricity supply. 

The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Schedule - Temporary 30mph Speed Limit
A357 Combe Hill, Templecombe – from a point 190 metres south from the junction with Bowden Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 214 metres.

Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
