THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAKEFIELD
(CALDER VALE ROAD, WAKEFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 41) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame
& cover to be carried out as follows: -
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Calder Vale Road, Wakefield for approximately 100 metres.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Calder Vale Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 27th February 2025 at 23.00 hours to 28th February 2025 at 03.00 hours or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(POPE STREET, NORMANTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 42) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for a bridge inspection on behalf of Network Rail to be carried out as follows: -
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Pope Street, Normanton travelling east for approximately 30 metres starting outside house number 20. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Pope Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Church Road, High Green Road, Lee Brig, Station Road, Altofts Road, King Edward Street, High Street, Castleford Road, Whitwood Common Lane, California Drive, Express Way, Pope Street & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 26th February 2025 at 23.00 hours to 27th February 2025 at 06.00 hours or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WATERTON ROAD & CROSS LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 43) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to complete ducting
installation, install new equipment & reduce number of light phases on the junction to keep traffic flowing to be carried out as follows: -
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Waterton Road & Cross Lane, Wakefield at the junction with Dewsbury Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed lengths of Waterton Road & Cross Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Waterton Road – Waterton Road, George A Green Road, Dewsbury Road & vice versa.
Cross Lane – Cross Lane, Horbury Road, Dewsbury Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 24th February 2025 to 4th April 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(PEACOCK AVENUE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 17) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow verge hardening
and footway surfacing to be carried out as follows: -
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Peacock Avenue, Wakefield from its junction with Walnut Crescent to its junction with Silcoates Street. The Order shall also
have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Peacock Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Peacock Avenue, Walnut Crescent, Maple Street, Silcoates Street, Peacock Avenue and vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 20th January 2025 at 08:00 hours until 4th March 2025 at 15:30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The closure was originally due to be in force until the 14th of February 2025 and was extended until the 21st of February 2025, however it has become necessary to extend the closure again until the 4th of March 2025 as above.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
