What is happening?
READING BOROUGH COUNCIL
(KIDMORE ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to temporarily close the carriageway outside number 189 Kidmore Rd, extending about 60m. The Order will come into force from 23 February - 31 May 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The order is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to a burst water main. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.
(DE BEAUVOIR RD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays from the side of number 1 Junction Road to its junction with number 109 De Beauvoir Rd. The Order will come into force from 25-27 February 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate works to excavate and lay telecommunication ducts.
(HOWARD ST) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily:
- Suspend the parking bays outside numbers 2 to 4 Howard St;
- Suspend the parking bays from opposite number 4 Howard St to the parking bays to the rear of 101 Oxford Rd;
- Suspend the double yellow line restriction from outside number 2 Howard St to its junction with Oxford Rd;
- Suspend the double yellow restriction from opposite number 4 Howard St to the parking bays to the rear of 101 Oxford Rd;
- Impose a no stopping or waiting or loading at any time restriction from outside and opposite 4 Howard St to its junction with Oxford Rd, except by Thames Water or their contractor's vehicles.
The Order will come into force from 24-27 February 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate clean water connection works.
(CINTRA AVENUE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking and impose a no waiting/loading at any time restriction opposite numbers 8 to 10 Cintra Avenue. The Order will come into force from 25-28 February 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to allow district meter exchange.
(GARRARD STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be as follows:
- Closure of Garrard Street for 2 weeks, done in two phases
- Temporary revocation of 'No Entry' on Station Road, entering Garrard Street, for access purposes
- Suspension of parking bays within Garrard Street over the course of 4 weeks as follows: Phase 1- approx. 30m of parking bays between Merchants Place and Station Hill's new development; Phase 2- approx. 25m of parking nearer Greyfriars Road and Station Hill's new development
If made, the Order will come into force from 10 March - 4 April 2025. The provisions of the Order shall only apply on the above dates when indicated on site by the presence of appropriate traffic signs in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary for alterations to gullies, installation of drainage networks and resurfacing and lining works on Garrard Street. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.
(WENSLEY ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close Wensley Road with its junction to Lesford Road. If made, the Order will come into force from 28 February - 21 March 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the order will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety whilst new drainage and streetlighting is undertaken. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.
(LORNE/GOWER STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close Lorne Street junction to approx. 30m within Oxford Road and Gower Street to approx. 30m between Hart Road and Mason Street. If made, the Order will come into force from 26-27 March 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the order will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety to allow jetting and drainage of CCTV networks. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.
