What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C25 (Part), Hindon and Fonthill Gifford; from its property known as Red House Farm to its property known as No.33 Stops Hill to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing and associated works. Alternative route via C25 (unaffected length) - C43 - B3089 - C25 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. B) C257 (Part), Chute; from its junction with C195 to its junction with Coholt Hill to enable Openreach to carry out communication equipment replacement and associated works. Alternative route via Coholt Hill - Fosbury Road - High Street - Village Street - Upton Road - Ibthorpe Road - A343 - Saxon Way - Goch Way - Hatherden Lane - Andover Road - Hungerford Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 2 days. C) Milton Road (Part), Amesbury; from its western junction with Cadnam Crescent to its eastern junction with Cadnam Crescent to enable Openreach to carry out to provide a safe working area for engineers to access existing footway box(s) to provide ducting across road for a customer. Alternative route via Cadnam Crescent and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 March 2025 and the closure will be required for between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 2 days. This Order will come into operation on 18 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. F) Allington Track, Amesbury and Allington; from its junction with A303 to its junction with A338 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun works to stabilise and improve the roadside verges following years of overrunning having taken place. This Order will come into operation on 17 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 28 March 2025. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 February 2025 and the closure will be required until 07 March 2025. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2025 and the closure will be required for between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Phase 2: C10 (Part), Steeple Langford; from its junction with Duck Street to its property known as Chequers to enable Wessex Internet to carry out ducting and associated works. Alternative route via C10 (unaffected length) - C283 - A36 - C64 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 24 February 2025 and the phases will run consecutively on weekdays only between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 until 14 March 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. And to temporarily suspend the existing One Way Order on North Street, Wilton to allow for diversion route to enable North Street (unaffected length) - A30 - A36 and vice versa. Alternative route via Gains Lane - Southbroom Road - Nursteed Road - Hare and Hounds Street - Sheep Street and vice versa. The closure, restriction and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 17 March 2025 and the closure will be required until 14 April 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all vehicles, caravans, horses, horse drawn carriages (excluding pedestrians, bicycles and motorcycles): a) Byway 10 (Part), Durrington; from its junction with Fargo Road to its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury/A344. b) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Byway 10, Durrington/ crossing the A344 over to its junction with A303 (T). c) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake. d) Byway 1 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury to its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James. e) Byway 11 (Part), Berwick St James; from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake to its junction with Byway 16, Woodford. f) Byway 16 (Part), Woodford; from its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James to its junction with A360, Druids Lodge. g) Byway 11 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 2, Wilsford cum Lake. h) Byway 2, (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 11, Amesbury to its junction with Footpath 3 at Springbottom Farm, Wilsford cum Lake to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out repair of byways and associated maintenance works. No alternative route is available. The closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This closure which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 24 February 2025 and the closures will be required until 07 April. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 06 months.
