What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14 (2)Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Thwaite Gates Level Crossing, Thwaite Street, Cottingham 

East Riding ofYorkshire Council hereby gives notice that no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed over Thwaite Gates Level Crossing,Thwaite Street, Cottingham (20 metres either side of the level crossing) on the following dates: 

23.00 hours on Saturday 8 March 2025 until 05.30 hours on Monday 10 March 2025 and 23.00 hours on Saturday 15 March 2025 until 09.00 hours on Sunday 16 March 2025 to renew the level crossing. 

The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. 

The alternative route for traffic affected by this closure will be via the remainder of Thwaite Street, New Village Road, Northgate, King Street and Newgate Street, Cottingham. 

The road will be open at all times for pedestrians but will remain closed to all vehicles including emergency services.
