What is happening?

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

(NEWBURY STREET, KINTBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Newbury Street in Kintbury between its junction with Burtons Hill and its junction with Station Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Newbury Street, Bath Road A4, Bath Road Halfway A4, Gravel Hill A4, A34T and A4 West Roundabout A4, Bath Road A4, A34T and A4 East Roundabout A4, Bath Road A4, Western Avenue A4, A4 Western Avenue/Oxford Road Roundabout A4, Western Ave A4, A339 and A4 Robin Hoods Roundabout A4, A339 Southbound, A339 and Kings Road Roundabout, A339 Southbound, A339 and Greenham Road Roundabout, St Johns Road A343, A343 Andover Road/St Johns Road Roundabout, Andover Road A343, Buckingham Road, Enborne Road, Unnamed Road from Wheatlands Lane to Church Lane, Enborne, Unnamed Road from Craven Arms to Holtwood Road, Hamstead Marshall, Unnamed Road from Holtwood Road to Hamstead Marshall, Unnamed Road from Tinkers Corner to Hamstead Marshall, Unnamed Road from Holt Road to Tinkers Corner, Kintbury Holt, Holt Road, Newbury Street and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for access required to chamber in carriageway. The proposed Order will come into effect on 10th March 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 10th March 2025 and 12th March 2025.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
