Sandwell Area - Multiple Temporary Road Closure Orders

What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (George Street, Trinity Road North, Hope Street, Thynne Street, Florence Road, Jesson Street, Devereux Road, Salters Vale and Overend Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following roads in West Bromwich:-
George Street which will be closed at the junction of High Street – 3rd & 10th March 2025 (8am - 1pm). Traffic will be diverted via Spon Lane, Bull Street, High Street and vice versa.
Trinity Road North which will be closed at the junction of High Street – 3rd March 2025 (8am - 1pm) & 10th March 2025 (1pm - 6pm). No diversion route due to Trinity Road North being a cul-de-sac.
Hope Street which will be closed at the junction of High Street – 4th & 11th March 2025 (1pm - 6pm). Traffic will be diverted via Beeches Road, Jesson Street and High Street.
Thynne Street which will be closed at the junction of High Street – 4th & 11th March 2025 (8am - 1pm). Traffic will be diverted via High Street, Bagnall Street and Beeches Road.
Florence Road which will be closed at the junction of High Street – 5th & 12th March 2025 (8am - 1pm). Traffic will be diverted via Burlington Road, Trinity Street, High Street and vice versa.
Jesson Street which will be closed at the junction with High Street – 5th & 12th March 2025 (1pm - 6pm). Traffic will be diverted via Beeches Road, Hope Street and High Street.
Devereux Road which will be closed at the junction of Roebuck Lane – 6th & 13th March 2025 (1pm - 6pm). Traffic will be diverted via Salisbury Road, High Street, Roebuck Lane and vice versa.
Salters Vale which will be closed at the junction of Roebuck Lane – 6th & 13th March 2025 (8am - 1pm). No diversion route due to Salters Vale being a cul-de-sac.
Overend Street which will be closed between the junctions of High Street
and Nicholls Street – 7th & 14th March 2025 (8am - 6pm). Traffic will be diverted via Overend Street, Bull Street and High Street. A further traffic
diversion route will be signed via High Street, Bull Street, Walsall Street
(northbound), Reform Street (northbound), Reform Street (southbound),
Walsall Street (southbound) and Overend Street.
The road closure times are approximate for each day and may slightly vary
as the work progresses. Access to any affected properties will be maintained,
but only when safety permits. The maximum duration is 18 months but the
work is expected to be completed by 14/03/2025 effective from 03/03/2025.
Purpose – to facilitate access to lay blue asphalt for a new cycle lane.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Trinity Street, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Trinity Street, which will be closed at the junction of Station Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Station Road (eastbound), Crosswells Road (eastbound) to the roundabout at the junction of Vicarage Road, Crosswells Road (westbound) and Station Road (westbound). The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/03/2025 effective from 05/03/2025 (24hr).
Purpose – to facilitate access for remedial works to rectify a defect by
Onsite on behalf of South Staffs Water.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Brook Street, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Brook Street, which will be closed from the western boundary of property No.2 to the eastern boundary of property No.12. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Cutler Street, Baldwin Street, Soho Way, Crocketts Lane and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 06/03/2025 (7am - 6pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for repair works by Severn Trent Water.
