What is happening?

A358 Flaxpool Hill, Bishops Lydeard
(Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary 30mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below.

This Order will come into operation on the 7th day of March 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 11th day of March 2025 for one day (between 0930 hours and 1530 hours) to enable Airband Community Internet Ltd to carry out works to install fibre cable for a new customer connection. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Schedule - Temporary 30mph Speed Limit A358 Flaxpool Hill, Bishops Lydeard – from its junction with Station Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 423 metres.

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
