What is happening?

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Wood End, Bluntisham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-234
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Wood End, Bluntisham as lies between Old Farm Court & Meridian Close. The alternative route for vehicles is via Wood End; The Heath; The Heath, Colne; The Heath, Somersham; B1040; A1123; High St, Bluntisham & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/25 whichever is the earlier.
Footpath from The Paddock to Homestead & Footpath from Pennywort to Homestead, Somersham Temporary Prohibition of Use – Order 2025-261
Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Footpath from The Paddock to Homestead & Footpath from Pennywort to Homestead, Somersham & between Homestead & The Paddock; Homestead & Pennywort respectively.
The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 17/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 16/9/25 whichever is the earlier.
Paxton Road B1043, Offord D’Arcy Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-262
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Paxton Road B1043, Offord D’Arcy as lies between High Street B1043 & Toseland Rd B1043, Great Paxton.
The alternative route for vehicles is via:
- High St B1043; Toseland Rd, Great Paxton; Paxton Rd, Toseland; High St; Graveley Rd, Toseland; Toseland Rd, Graveley; Old Great North Rd, Offord Darcy; Orchard Way & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pole installation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 19/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 18/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Kings Ripton Road, Sapley Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-263
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Kings Ripton Road, Sapley as lies between Lodge Farm & Kings Ripton village.
The alternative route for vehicles is via:
- Kings Ripton Rd; B1090; A141 & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 13/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 12/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
St Peters Road, Huntingdon Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Ermine Street B1044, Huntingdon Temporary No Right Turn – Order 2025-279
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along St Peters Road, Huntingdon as lies between Walnut Tree Drive & B1044 and the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from turning right from the Ermine Street B1044 into St Peters Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via St Peters Rd; A141; B1044 & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate bridge inspection, maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/25 whichever is the earlier.
Little Whyte, Ramsey Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-280
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Little Whyte, Ramsey as lies between Whyte Terrace & B1040.
The alternative route for vehicles is via:
- Little Whyte; New Rd; B1040 & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 25/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 24/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Holme Fen, Holme Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-289
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Holme Fen, Holme as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Holme Fen; Fen Drove; Yaxley Rd; B660; New Long Drove & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 23/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 22/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Walnut Tree Crescent, Fenstanton Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-292
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Walnut Tree Crescent, Fenstanton as lies between Swan Road & Swan Gardens.
The alternative route for vehicles is via:
- Walnut Tree Crescent; Church St; Swan Rd & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate tap installation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 4/3/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 3/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
The Stukeleys Footpath 11, The Stukeleys
Temporary Prohibition Of Use – Order 2025-368
Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along The Stukeleys Footpath 11, The Stukeleys as lies between Grange Farm & The Stukeleys Bridleway 10. The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new road construction preparatory & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 27/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 26/8/25 whichever is the earlier.
Various Roads, West Division Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic & Temporary Revocation Of 7.5 Tonne Weight Limit – Order 2025-435
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedules 1 and 2. The alternative route as shown in Schedule 1. The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 2 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.

Various Footpaths, West Division Temporary Prohibition Of Use – Order 2025-361
Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along various footpaths as set out in Schedule 1 below.
The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate reconstruction, improvement & associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 3/3/25 & will continue until these works have finished or on the 2/9/25 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.
Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises and land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with the works for which these orders are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
