What is happening?

Cornwall Council 

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) 

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 16th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Bridleway 4, Pentewan, north section between grid references SX 02055:47985 to SX 02126:47984. 

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to an uneven, slippery and dangerous surface. The Bridleway is closed only to those driving, leading or riding a horse. 

The Order will come into operation on 17th February 2025 and the works are expected to be completed by the 27th July 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. 

The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 27th January 2025 for a period of up to 21 days.

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer. 

Pedestrian access to residents and businesses will be maintained.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 17th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Bridleway 10 in the Parish of Carlyon between grid references SX 04331:54686 and SX 04347:54457. 

The Council satisfied that the Order is needed due to collapsed culvert causing major flooding. 

The Order will come into operation on 18th February 2025 and the works are expected to be completed by the 27th July 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. 

The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 28th January 2025 for a period of up to 21 days. 

Nothing in this Order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

The County of Cornwall (Byway 31 in the Parish of St Enoder) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of highway in Indian Queens. 

This prohibition is necessary for poling works and it is expected that the closure will be from 21st March 2025 for one day. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0930 and 1530, weekdays only. 

Public right of way affected - Byway 31 in the Parish of St Enoder from junction on Moorland Road to the entrance to Little Meadows.

The County of Cornwall (Church Street, St Columb Minor, Newquay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 17th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Newquay. 

This prohibition is necessary for general manhole repair works and it is expected that the closure will be from 5th March 2025 to 6th March 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekdays only. 

Road affected - Church Street, St Columb Minor, Newquay from outside No 50 to outside No 79. An alternative route will be signed on site.

The County of Cornwall (Crinnicks Hill, Bodmin) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Bodmin. 

This prohibition is necessary for works on underground structure and it is expected that the closure will be from 18th March 2025 for one day. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0930 and 1530, weekdays only. Road affected - Crinnicks Hill, Bodmin from the Telephone Exchange to junction with St Nicholas Street.

The County of Cornwall (Cypress Avenue, Carlyon Bay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Carlyon Bay. 

This prohibition is necessary for bridge inspection on behalf of Network Rail and it is expected that the closure will be from 18th March 2025 to 19th March 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 1900 and 0700, weekdays only. 

Road affected - Cypress Avenue, Carlyon Bay between grid references SX 05511:52411 and SX 05495:52355.

The County of Cornwall (Daniels Lane, St Austell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in St Austell. 

This prohibition is necessary for surface treatment works and it is expected that the closure will be from 23rd March 2025 to 28th March 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 1800 and 0600, weekends included. 

Road affected - Daniels Lane, St Austell from junction with Holmbush Road to junction with Whieldon Road.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 14th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 18 in the Parish of Newquay between grid references SW 79813:61223 to SW 79793:61112.

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to unstable structure adjacent. 

The Order will come into operation on the 15th February 2025 and the works are expected to be completed by the 24th July 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. 

The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 25th January 2025 for a period of up to 21 days.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 13th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 110 in the Parish of St Stephen in Brannel from grid references SW 92101:54806 to SW 92194:54432 and Footpath 13 in the Parish of Ladock between grid references SW 91855 to SW 92098:54802. 

The Council is satisfied that the order is needed because of the likelihood of danger to the public as the route runs through an active industrial site and a busy haulage road. 

The Order will come into operation on 14th February 2025 and the works are expected to be completed by the 24th July 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. 

The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 24th January 2025 for a period of up to 21 days. 

Nothing in this Order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 17th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Par. 

This prohibition is necessary for works on overhead structure and it is expected that the closure will be from 3rd March 2025 to 5th March 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0930 and 1600, weekdays only. 

Road affected - Luxulyan Road, Par from junction with Access To Doubletrees Farm to junction with Road From Luxulyan Road To Cornhill Road.

Cornwall Council 
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) 

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council is under the above Order dated 23rd December 2024 continuing to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Middle Street, Port Isaac between Fore Street and Church Hill. 

The Order which commenced on the 6th January 2025 and is currently in force for up to eighteen months will now continue until the 28th February 2025. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. 

The Council is satisfied that this further restriction is necessary owing to engineering difficulties and the Order is needed because culvert repair works are being executed on or near the road. 

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 17th February 2025 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Bugle. 

This prohibition is necessary for works in underground structure and it is expected that the closure will be from 5th March 2025 for one day. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0930 and 1530, weekdays only. Road affected - Minorca Lane, Bugle from junction with Bodmin Road to site 11 entrance.
