District Of Bassetlaw - Temporary Prohibition of Driving To Carry Out Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

The Nottinghamshire County Council

(Various Locations, Worksop) (Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2025 (Bs25-039)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road

a. B6024 Newcastle Street, Worksop - From its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with B6040 Watson Road.

b. B6024 Newcastle Avenue, Worksop - From its junction with B6024 Newcastle Street to its junction with Westgate.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road 

a. B6024 Newcastle Street, Worksop - From its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with B6040 Watson Road.

b. B6024 Newcastle Avenue, Worksop - From its junction with B6024 Newcastle Street to its junction with Westgate

c. Queen Street, Worksop - For its entire length.

3. The existing oneway restriction will be temporarily suspended, such that traffic may only flow in either direction in the following length of road

a. Queen Street, Worksop - For its entire length

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place. 

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: 
From 20:00 hours until 06:00 hours only From Monday 24th February until Saturday 8th March 2025.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. B6040 Watson Road - B6045 Carlton Road - A60 Carlton Road - B6041 Raymoth Lane - B6041 Gateford Road - A57 - B6024 Newcastle Avenue and vice versa

The Order will come into force on 24th February 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. 

The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out resurfacing works.
