Suffolk - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Waiting Restrictions
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C341 HOLLESLEY ROAD, ALDERTON
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C341 Hollesley Road, Alderton from The Pastures to the B1083 to facilitate parking of plant equipment whilst resurfacing Watson Way. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1083, The Street, Hollesley Road Shottisham, Bushey Lane, Alderton Road Hollesley, Hollesley Road Alderton and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 27/02/2025 - 28/02/2025 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3630 BREDFIELD STREET, WOODBRIDGE
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3630 Bredfield Street, Woodbridge from no. 41 for 30 metres westbound to facilitate access to a sluice valve. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
- Southbound Diversion - Chapel Street, the B1079, Castle Street, St Johns Hill, Castle Street and no vice versa.
- Northbound Diversion - Castle Street, St Johns Hill, the B1079, the U3630 through Chapel Street and no vice versa.
- Eastbound - Dock Gate 2 Roundabout, the A154, the A14 northbound to Junction 60, the A14 Southbound to Junction 61, Wesel Avenue and vice versa.
- Westbound - Wesel Avenue to the A14 Junction 61, the A154 Trinity Avenue to Dock Gate 2 Roundabout and no vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/02/2025 - 20/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1077 WESTERFIELD ROAD, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1077 Westerfield Road, Ipswich from 180 metres north of the junction with Chelmsworth Avenue for 630 metres northbound to facilitate pipe laying works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1077, the B1078, the B1079, the A12, the A1214 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/02/2025 - 20/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE B1125 ANGEL LANE AND DUNWICH ROAD, BLYTHBURGH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1125 Angel Lane, Blythburgh and the B1125 Dunwich Road, Blythburgh to facilitate pre surface dressing patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1387, the A12 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 27/02/2025 - 28/02/2025 from 9.30am - 3pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3123 FERRY LANE, FELIXSTOWE
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3123 Ferry Lane, Felixstowe from Dock Gate 2 Roundabout to Wesel Avenue to facilitate a principle structural inspection of Ferry Lane Bridge. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5201 THE STREET, THORNHAM MAGNA
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5201 The Street, Thornham Magna from 210 metres south of the junction with Gislingham Road for 15 metres southbound to facilitate water defect repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Workhouse Road, the A140 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/02/2025 - 19/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3624 SANDY LANE, WOODBRIDGE AND MARTLESHAM
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3624 Sandy Lane, Woodbridge from California to Dukes Park and the U3624 Sandy Lane, Martlesham from Dukes Park for 160 metres south westbound to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Top Street, the B1438, California and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 27/02/2025 from 8am - 4.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 033, SUTTON
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Footpath 033, Sutton, from Sutton Bridleway 27 for 500 metres north eastbound in the interests of safety due to bank erosion structural damage. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
There will be no alternative route.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 27/02/2025 - 26/08/2025 or longer if extended by the Minister.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019 (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (BERNERS STREET (U3005) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) VARIATION NO. 36) ORDER 2025
On 12/02/2025, Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 3 of Map Tile GJ12E in place of the revision 2 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 order, as amended.
This order introduces a 'no waiting at any time' restriction on:
- Berners Street (U3005), Ipswich , on the east side from a point 8 metres south of Bedford Street, south for a total distance of 25 metres.
- Berners Street (U3005), Ipswich , on the west side from a point 33 metres south of Bedford Street, North for a total distance of 42 metres.
Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works (except between Monday - Saturday at 8am - 6pm as is already enforced); for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services and to fulfill statutory duties. The usual exemptions for blue badge-holders will apply (except between Monday to Saturday at 8am - 6pm as is already enforced).
A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 18/02/2025, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE, 9am - 6pm Monday; 9am - 7pm Tuesday; 9am - 6pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 7pm Friday; 8.30am - 5pm Saturday; and 10am - 4pm Sunday.
If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order is made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

On 12/02/2025, Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, as a result of which would substitute revision 2 of the Map Tile bearing reference GJ123 in place of revision 1 of the Map Tile bearing the same reference, and would substitute revision 4 of the Map Tiles bearing references GK123 and GK124 in place of revision 3 of the Map Tiles bearing the same references into the above 2019 order, as amended. This order will introduce:
'No Waiting at Any Time' on:
- Christchurch Street (U3005) (Eastern side), Ipswich , from its junction with Woodbridge Road, north for a distance of 15 metres.
- Christchurch Street (U3005) (Western side), Ipswich , from a point 10 metres south of Cobbold Street, north for a total distance of 20 metres.
- Cobbold Street (U3001) (East and West sides), Ipswich , from its junction with Christchurch, west for a distance of 15 metres.
'No Loading Monday - Saturday 8am - 9.30am, 4.30pm - 6pm' on:

- Christchurch Street (U3005) (Western side), Ipswich , from a point 10 metres south of Cobbold Street, north for a total distance of 20 metres.
- Cobbold Street (U3001) (East and West sides), Ipswich , from its junction with Christchurch, west for a distance of 15 metres.
