The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking Places
(Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025.
The Order will create parking places with unlimited waiting in Ardglass: Isabella Way to
the rear of No. 33 The Ward; Belfast: Cavendish Square in front of Nos. 5 and 6 (2 bays),
Colinmill in a lay-by to the rear of No. 74, Eliza Street Close in a parking area in front of No. 21,
Joanmount Park in front of No. 81, Ligoniel Road in front of No. 108, North Parade in front of
No. 65, Oldpark Road in front of No. 594 and Thorndale Avenue in front of No. 5; Ballymoney:
Henry Street in front of No. 14; Derry/Londonderry: Claremont Street in front of No. 2, Lone
Moor Road in front of No. 49 Elmwood Terrace (Re-advertisement), Marianus Park in front
of No. 44, Tutor Court in a parking area to the rear of No. 9 Park Avenue and Westway in a
parking area in front of Nos. 116/118; Donaghadee: Victoria Crescent in a lay-by to the side
of No. 1; Dungannon: Lisnagowan Road in front of St Mary’s Primary School; Magherafelt:
Highfield Road in front of No. 95; Omagh: Clonmore Gardens in a parking area in front of No.
18; Newtownards: Lenamore Park in a parking area to the side of No. 27 and Moyne Gardens
beside an existing bay adjacent to No. 25; Portaferry: Shore Road in front of No. 52.
All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.
The Order will also remove parking places with unlimited waiting in Belfast: Reid Street in front
of No. 28 and remove old legislation for 5 parking places in High Street, Omagh which were
relocated during an environmental improvement scheme.

using the relevant office e-mail address above or by telephone during office hours (Mon to

Parking & Waiting Restrictions – Belfast
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Parking and
Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025” (S.R. 2025 No.15)
which comes into operation on 26 February 2025.
The Rule will authorise lengths of Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast for use as parking
places and prescribe the conditions under which they may be used. Between 8.00 a.m. and
6.00 p.m. Monday to Saturday inclusive, parking will be limited to 1 hour with return to a parking
place prohibited for 1 hour. Vehicles are excepted from the prohibition in certain circumstances.
A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00
am to 5.00 pm) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by email to traffic.
