What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(DUNSTABLE ROAD, STUDHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunstable Road, Studham opposite Setter Braes.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electricity supply works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 14 March 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Dunstable Road, Common Road, Clayhall Road, Byslips Road, Clements End Road, Dunstable Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CHAUL END ROAD, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chaul End Road, Caddington outside number 201.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 14 March 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A5065, A505, A5183, Dunstable Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(THORN ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Thorn Road, Houghton Regis outside Thorn Springs to Colloseum Drive.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 12 March 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A505, B5120, Bedford Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LONDON ROAD, HYDE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of London Road, Hyde approximately 40 metres either side of Newlands Road junction.

This temporary closure is required to enable micro asphalt works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 8pm on the 24 February 2025 to 5am on the 28 February 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A1081, B653, B652, A1081 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 24 February 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(DUNSTABLE ROAD, WHIPSNADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunstable Road, Whipsnade on the northwest section of Heath Wood up to Buckwood Lane.

This temporary closure is required to enable maintenance of overgrown tree works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 24 to 25 February 2025 between the hours of 8am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B540, Clayhall Road, Byslips Road, Clements End Road, Dunstable Road and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 24 February 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING TO INTRODUCE WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN WATLING GARDENS, DUNSTABLE

On 11th February 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:To revoke the drop off bay and replace with No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm on the following lengths of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Watling Gardens, west side, from a point approximately opposite the midway position across the frontage of No.4 Watling Gardens and extending in a north westerly direction for approximately 15 metres to a point approximately in line with the property boundary between No.1 and No.2 Watling Gardens.

2.  Watling Gardens, north side, from a point approximately 15 metres southwest of the south-western boundary of No.30 Watling Gardens and extending in a generally south westerly direction for approximately 30 metres.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.8) Order 2025 Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 26th February 2025.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 11th February 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HARLINGTON: FOOTPATH NO. 2 AND WESTONING: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 15)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of part of public footpath No.15, Westoning which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference TL 0258 3111 to Ordnance Survey Grid Reference TL 0264 3109 and public footpath No. 2, Harlington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference TL 0262 3109 to Ordnance Survey Grid Reference TL 0331 3057.

This temporary closure is required due to site construction works taking place.The closure is expected to take place from 20th February to 19th August 2025.

There is no alternative route along public rights of way for footpath users while the closure is in operation, however the developer may provide and sign an alternative route within their land.

The Order will come into operation on 20th February 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
