Mosley Street - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC142076865: The City of Manchester (Mosley Street, York Street, Deansgate Ward)(High Street, Church Street, Aytoun Street, Minshull Street & Aubrun Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, No Right-Turn, One-Way Traffic & No Waiting No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Mosley Street and will also effect York St, High St, Church St, Aytoun St, Minshull St & Auburn St. The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally for each stage of works. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Metrolink maintenance. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 1st March 2025 to 15th September 2025.
The order shall come into operation on 1st March 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
The City of Manchester (Portland Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to suspend the operation of the bus lane on Portland Street thereby permitting the use of that part of the carriageway by all motor vehicles. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 1st March 2025 to 17th March 2025 & from 28th July 202t to 20th August 2025. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension is necessary in order to facilatate Metrolink Maintenance.
