The East Sussex (Public Bridleway Mayfield and Five Ashes 38b (part)) (Temporary Bridleway Closure) Order 2024
To protect public safety during essential water supply replacement works, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 9 August 2024 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following bridleway:
Temporary Bridleway Closure
Part of Public Bridleway Mayfield and Five Ashes 38b will be closed between TQ 6043 3016 and TQ 6045 3010. An alternative route will be available to the east of the closure as signed.
The closure will be in force for 8 months from 19 February 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the bridleway still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (U5051 Mill Lane, Rodmell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Mill Lane – from the junction with C7 Newhaven Road to Garden Cottage.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 3 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C402 Chillies Lane, Crowborough/Buxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Chillies Lane – from the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road to the junction with A26 Uckfield Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A26 Uckfield Road, Five Ash Down, Mill Pond Road – A272 London Road, Budletts Lane, Buxted Road, Lephams Bridge Road – C402 Hurstwood Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7039 Dern Lane, Waldron/Chiddingly) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Dern Lane – from the junction with C208 Furnace Lane to the junction with U7672 Stalkers Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7672 Stalkers Lane – U7676 Graywood Lane – C328 Foxhunt Green – C208 Tanyard Hill, Furnace Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 3 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

The East Sussex (A272 Main Road/Curtains Hill/The Toll/Pound Green, Hadlow Down/Buxted)(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Main Road/Curtains Hill/The Toll/Pound Green – from the junction with C11 School Lane to the junction with U7505 Limes Lane.
The Order commences 17 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 February and 30 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure The Village – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 17 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 28 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Fuller Road – from the junction with U5107 Churchill Road to the junction with U5107 Hayward Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commenced 6 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Argos Hill Lane – from the junction with B2101 Bicycle Arms Road to the junction with A267 Argos Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2101 Bicycle Arms Road – A267 Argos Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 14 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Church Road – from the junction with C659 Barcombe Mills Road to the junction with C8 Hamsey Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C8 Hamsey Road, High Street – C659 Barcombe Mills Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 19 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Pelham Terrace – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5151 St Johns Hill, Toronto Terrace, Talbot Terrace and vice versa. The Order commences 17 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 February and 21 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Evelyn Road – from the junction with U5107 Horsfield Road to the junction with U5107 Lee Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5107 Horsfield Road, Eridge Green, Lee Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 21 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 21 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hawks Road – from the junction with A271 Upper Horsebridge Road to the junction with U7196 Lansdowne Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Upper Horsebridge Road – B2104 London Road – C208 Hawks Road and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via B2193 Lansdown Place, Station Road, Priory Street, Southover High Street – C7 Bell Lane, Winterbourne Hollow – A277 Western Road, High Street – A2029 Market Street, North Street, Little East Street, Eastgate Street and westbound via A277 High Street, Western Road – C7 Winterbourne Hollow, Bell Lane – B2193 Southover High Street, Priory Street, Station Road.
The Order commenced 12 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 21 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C7 Newhaven Road, Kingston/Swanborough/Iford/ Northease/ Rodmell)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Newhaven Road – from the junction with C324 Wellgreen Lane to the junction with U5051 The Street.
