WELLESLEY ROAD, CROYDON
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate tramway renewal works on behalf of London Trams, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Wellesley Road, Croydon.
During the said works:
a) The south-eastbound bus lane on the north-east side of Wellesley Road will be closed between The Quarters, Croydon, No. 20 Wellesley Road, and its junction with Park Lane.
b) The pedestrian crossing outside 19 Wellesley Road will be closed and pedestrians will be diverted to an alternative crossing in George Street.
Whilst the restrictions are in force Traffic Marshalls will manage access for buses.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
The Order will come into operation on 14 February 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 24 February 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.

ARDFERN AVENUE, DALMENY AVENUE, EDERLINE AVENUE, KILMARTIN AVENUE, & MELROSE AVENUE, NORBURY
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in the roads listed in paragraph 2 below.
Whilst the said work is taking place the roads will be closed as detailed below.

These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

HIGH STREET, KATHARINE STREET & SCARBROOK ROAD, CROYDON
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to the underground structure on behalf of Openreach, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic movements in High Street, Katharine Street, and Scarbrook Road, Croydon.
Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) High Street, Croydon will be closed between its junctions with Katharine Street and Scarbrook Road.
b) Katharine Street will be closed between its junctions with Fell Road and High Street, Croydon.
c) Scarbrook Road will be closed between its junctions with High Street and Surrey Street.
During the closures the diversion route for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.
Via St Georges Walk, Park Street, A212, Edridge Road, and High Street (for Scarbrook Road use Whitgift Street and Scarbrook Road).
The Order will come into operation on 03 March 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 04 March 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14, AS AMENDED
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR OR PEDESTRIAN ACCESS AND TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate essential highway maintenance works that may take place within the London Borough of Croydon, they intend to amend “The Croydon (Highways Maintenance Works) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order) 2024” to include the length of street listed in the Schedule to this notice, and to allow the following measures to be introduced in that street, for which Croydon Council is the highway authority, providing that the relevant permissions have been granted by the Council:
(a) temporarily introduce one-way traffic for the duration of the works in that length of street.
(b) temporarily close to vehicular traffic that length of street.
(c) temporarily close any adjoining streets to vehicular traffic where this is considered necessary to facilitate the work in progress.
(d) temporarily introduce banned turns, footway closures or waiting and loading restrictions at any time should this be required.
(e) temporarily suspend bus lanes/stops, cycle lanes, parking bays, or any other traffic restriction as required where this is considered necessary to facilitate the work in progress.
Wherever the work happens to be in progress, no person may cause or permit any vehicle to:
(a) proceed in a direction other than that indicated by a traffic sign, or
(b) proceed in any street or length of street which may at the time be subject to a road closure until the completion of the work allows.
Whilst the provisions of the amended Order remain in force, waiting or loading by vehicles would be prohibited at any time in those streets or lengths of streets specified where work is in progress. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction on waiting imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
All works requiring a road closure will be advertised complete with any diversion route on our website at the address below. Planned closures and diversion routes are also shown in the Schedule to this Notice.

Frontages affected by the above restrictions will receive notification letters approximately two weeks before any work commences.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
The amended Order will come into operation on the 05 March 2025 and will remain in force until 10 October 2025, 18 months from the operational date of the original Order. (Note: The provisions of the Order will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. (Access for frontages would be maintained whilst the work proceeds).

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC**
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cover replacement work on behalf of Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Penge Road.
Whilst the said works are taking place, Penge Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with King’s Road.
During the closure, the diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below and appropriately signposted.
- Via Sunny Bank, Manor Road, A215, A222, A214, A213, and vice versa.
- Via A214, Church Road, A212 Church Road, A215, and A2134.
The Order will come into operation on 28 February 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 01 March 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
