Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Waiting Restrictions

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HATCHING GREEN CLOSE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hatching Green Close, Harpenden from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.5 Hatching Green Close south westwards for its entire length ("the Road").

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the length of the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LIME TREE PLACE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lime Tree Place, St Albans ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A5183 WATLING STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road ("the lengths of Road"):

1. That length of A5183 Watling Street, St Albans from its junction with the A414 North Orbital Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 350m.

An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, A1081 London Road and A5183 (Holywell Hill/St Stephens Hill/Watling Street).

2. That length of A5183 Watling Street, St Albans from the A414 North Orbital Road roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 200m.

An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, A1081 (London Colney Bypass/Bell Lane/Harper Lane) and A5183 (Watling Street/Radlett Road/Frogmore/Watling Street).

The Order is needed because vegetation clearance works are proposed to be executed near the lengths of the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the lengths of Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BREWHOUSE HILL, WHEATHAMPSTEAD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Brewhouse Hill, Wheathampstead from a point in line with the northern eastern boundary of No.39 Brewhouse Hill south westwards for a distance of approximately 28m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Brewhouse Hill, Church Street, B651 (High Street/ Wheathampstead Road/High Street/St Albans Road/Sandridge Road/Stonecross), A1081 (St Peters Street/Harpenden Road/St Albans Road), Walsingham Road, Piggottshill Lane, Wheathampstead Road, Harpenden Road and Brewhouse Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SOUTHDOWN ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Southdown Road, Harpenden from its junction with Walkers Road south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
