Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
A257 High Street, Wingham, CT3 1BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A257 High Street, Wingham, on or after 11th March 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 41 to outside number 42, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A257 High Street, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 Wingham Road, A257 High Street, A257 The Hill, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 Littlebourne Road, A257 St Martin’s Hill, A257 Longport, A257 Lower Chantry Lane, A257 St George’s Place, A28 Lower Bridge Street, A28 Broad Street, A28 Military Road, A28 Tourtel Road, A28 Sturry Road, A28 Mill Road, A28 Island Road, A28 Staines Hill, A28 Island Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A253 Ramsgate Road, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A256 Richborough Way, A256 Ramsgate Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A257 Ash Bypass, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Gobery Hill and vice versa.

Barfrestone Road, Eythorne, CT15 4FF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barfrestone Road, Eythorne, on or after 25th February 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from number 14 to approximately 600m West, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barfrestone Road, Adelaide Road, Roman Way, Tye Wood, Sandwich Lane, Pie Factory Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bay Hill, St Margarets Bay, CT15 6DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bay Hill, St Margarets Bay, on or after 10th March 2025 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Coastguard Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Granville Road, Hotel Road, Bay Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Claremont Road, Deal, CT14 9UT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Claremont Road, Deal, on or after 11th March 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the side of 102 A258 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Claremont Road, Church Path, Grange Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Downs Road, East Studdal, CT15 5DB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Downs Road, East Studdal, on or after 10th March 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Oak Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Downs Road, Northbourne Road, Stoneheap Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Eythorne Road, Shepherdswell, CT15 7PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Eythorne Road, Shepherdswell, on or after 11th March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite number 63, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Eythorne Road, Great Haynes, Mill Lane, Church Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Knightrider Street, Sandwich, CT13 9EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow roof works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Knightrider Street, Sandwich, on or after 10th March 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of The Quay and Upper Strand Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via The Quay, High Street and Upper Strand Street.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Upper Strand Street, High Street, The Chain, Galliard Street, New Street, Cattle Market, Harnet Street, Strand Street, High Street and The Quay.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Long Lane, Shepherdswell, CT15 7LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Long Lane, Shepherdswell, on or after 12th March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Barfrestone Road for approximately 860m Westbound, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Long Lane, Barfrestone Road, Eythorne Road, Coxhill, Westcourt Lane, Westcourt Downs and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Perry Lane, Wingham, CT3 1ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Perry Lane, Wingham, on or after 24th February 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from 4 Perry Bungalows to Little Perry Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Perry Lane, Nash Road, Walmestone Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Roman Road, East Studdal, CT15 5BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Roman Road, East Studdal, on or after 24th February 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Strakers Hill and Homestead Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Roman Road, Strakers Hill, Homestead Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rusham Road, Shatterling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rusham Road, Shatterling, on or after 24th February 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A257 Roman Road and Beaute Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rusham Road, A257 Roman Road, Beaute Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Beach & Canada Road, Walmer, CT14 7HH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Beach & Canada Road, Walmer, on or after 10th March 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The Beach will be closed from outside number 9 to outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A prohibition of parking will be imposed on part of The Beach. The restriction will be imposed from outside number 9 to outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Beach, Kingsdown Road, Granville Road, A258 Dover Road, A258 The Strand and vice versa.
Canada Road will be closed outside between the junctions of The Beach and A258 The Strand, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A prohibition of parking will be imposed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Beach, A258 The Strand and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Thornton Lane, Eastry, CT13 0EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thornton Lane, Eastry, on or after 12th March 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 8 to the junction of Mill Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Thornton Lane, Thornton Road, Pike Road, Lower Street, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wass Drove, Westmarsh, CT3 2LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wass Drove, Westmarsh, on or after 26th February 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Home Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wass Drove, Ware Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Water Street, Deal, CT14 6AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Water Street, Deal, on or after 26th February 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Princes Street and High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Water Street, Princes Street, Peter Street, College Road, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Willow Woods Road, West Studdal, CT15 5BH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Willow Woods Road, West Studdal, on or after 12th March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Strakers Hill to outside West Studdal Farm Cottages, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Willow Woods Road, Gaggs Hill, Chapel Lane, Homestead Lane, Strakers Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Woodnesborough Road, Sandwich, CT13 0EY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow vegetation cutting to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Woodnesborough Road, Sandwich, on or after 16th March 2025 for up to 11 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the level crossing, between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Woodnesborough Road, St Barts Road, Dover Road, New Street, Cattle Market and Moat Sole.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Moat Sole, Cattle Market, Harnet Street, Strand Street, High Street, The Chain, Galliard Street, New Street, Dover Road, St Barts Road and Woodnesborough Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Dover, CT16 1BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Dover, on or after 24th February 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
Restrictions will be displayed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Biggin Street will be closed opposite Flat number 20. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length.
The one-way Order for Priory Street will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The one-way Order for Worthing Street will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The one-way Order for Pencester Road will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Maison Dieu Road, A256 Woolcomber Street, A20 Townwall Street and A256 York Street.
