What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(HILTON ROAD & WOLVERHAMPTON ROAD EAST)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
· Hilton Road closed its entire length in both directions.
· Walton Road closed its entire length in both directions.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Birmingham New Road, Spring Road and vice versa.
It is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 17 February 2025 until
7 March 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only.
· Wolverhampton Road East closed in both directions at its junction with Dudding Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wolverhampton Road, High Street, Bilston Street, Gorge Road, Hurst Road, Shaw Road, Birmingham New Road, Parkfield Road and vice versa.
· Dudding Road closed in both directions at its junction with Wolverhampton Road East.
· Greenly Road closed in both directions at its junction with Wolverhampton Road East. Local diversion routes will be in place.
It is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 3 March 2025 until 11 March 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates and times stipulated above.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and lining.
