What is happening?

Manchester City Council 

Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14 (As Amended) 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order: ORDER NO. MCC000142038077: The City of Manchester (Oldham Road & Sherratt Street, Ancoats & Beswick Ward) (Temporary Closure of Bus Lane) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) (Suspension of Parking Bays) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit any bus, taxi or pedal cycle from proceeding at any time in the following length of bus lane: From Poland Street to Cornell Street. 

SCHEDULE 2:Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic - Sherratt Street, from Oldham Road to Anita Street. 

The alternative routes for traffic will be: George Leigh Street, Cornell Street. Schedule

3: Suspension of Parking Bays on Sherratt Street between Oldham Road and Anita Street. 

The City Council is satisfied that this suspension/ or prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate major projects works.

It is expected that the works will be in progress from 17th February 2025 to 11th May 2025 The order shall come into operation on 17th February 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
